Abstract

Abstract A scheme to implement the controlled‐NOT (CNOT) gate for quantum systems is proposed, which is based on Lyapunov control. The scheme does not require precise control of the interaction time since the system is stable when the control fields vanish. In particular, the control fields can be easily obtained by most initial states. As an example, the CNOT gate is realized for two atoms trapped in an optical cavity by exploiting two disturbance cases. Compared to continuous disturbance, the fidelity of the CNOT gate is higher under impulsive disturbance, however, interaction times are much longer. Numerical simulations indicate that the scheme is robust against variations of control parameters and decoherence caused by atomic spontaneous emission and cavity decay. Therefore, the scheme may provide useful applications in quantum computation.

Conditional quantum CNOT gate between two four-level atoms

We propose a scheme to implement a quantum controlled-NOT (CNOT) gate between two four-level atoms inside the detuned optical cavity. The system state is evolved inside the decoherence-free (DF) subspace through stimulated Raman processes, which yields the desired unitary evolution operation for the CNOT.Our scheme is immune to decoherence due to dissipation of cavity excitation and spontaneous emission from the excited atomic level.

Fast CNOT gate via shortcuts to adiabatic passage

Zhe Wang, Yan Xia, Ye‐Hong Chen +1 more

Based on the shortcuts to adiabatic passage, we propose a scheme for directly implementing a controlled-not (CNOT) gate in a cavity quantum electrodynamics system. Moreover, we generalize the scheme to realize a CNOT gate in two separate cavities connected by an optical fiber. The strictly numerical simulation shows that the schemes are fast and insensitive to the decoherence caused by atomic spontaneous emission and photon leakage. In addition, the schemes can provide a theoretical basis for the manipulation of the multiqubit quantum gates in distant nodes of a quantum network.

Fast CNOT gate between two spatially separated atoms via shortcuts to adiabatic passage

Yan Liang, Chong Song, Xin Ji +1 more

Quantum logic gate is indispensable to quantum computation. One of the important qubit operations is the quantum controlled-not (CNOT) gate that performs a NOT operation on a target qubit depending on the state of the control qubit. In this paper we present a scheme to realize the quantum CNOT gate between two spatially separated atoms via shortcuts to adiabatic passage. The influence of various decoherence processes on the fidelity is discussed. The strict numerical simulation results show that the fidelity for the CNOT gate is relatively high.

Scheme for implementation of controlled-not gate and quantum teleportation in a resonant cavity

Shi Shi-wei, You-Min Yi

A scheme is proposed to implement quantum controlled-not(CNOT) gates with a resonant cavity and this quantum gate is used to carry out teleportation of an arbitrary single-atom superposition state.By using three level atoms,it can be realized through single-qubit operation and resonant interaction between two atoms and a resonant cavity. The interaction time between two atoms and the single-mode cavity is very short, which is important in view of decoherence. This character is one of the advantages of this scheme comparing to the scheme based on detuned cavity.

Selective Atom-Cavity Interaction Scheme for Quantum Controlled-NOT Gate Using Four-Level Atoms in Cavity QED System

Shi-Qing Tang, Deng-Yu Zhang, Xie Li-Jun +2 more

We propose a scheme for realization a quantum Controlled-NOT gate operation using two four-level atoms through a selective atom–cavity interaction in cavity quantum electrodynamics system. In our protocol, the quantum information is encoded on the stable ground states of the two atoms. During the interaction between atoms and single-mode vacuum cavity-field, the atomic spontaneous emission is negligible as the large atom–cavity detuning effectively suppresses the spontaneous decay of the atoms. The influences of the dissipation and the deviation of interaction time on fidelity and corresponding success probability of the quantum Controlled-NOT gate and the experimental feasibility of our proposal are also discussed.
