Abstract

In this paper, we present an alternative scheme to generate W state of three superconducting qubits in three spatially separated coplanar waveguide resonators with the quantum Zeno dynamics and the dressed states. When a set of dressed states is suitably chosen, a scheme can be designed for accelerating the adiabatic passage without additional couplings. What is more, the populations of the intermediate states of the system can be restricted by choosing suitable control parameters. We discuss the influence of dissipation and operational imperfection by numerical analysis and the results show that the scheme is robust against various decoherence processes. In addition, we hope the scheme can provide a theoretical basis for the manipulation of the multi-qubit quantum state.

Fast generation of W states of superconducting qubits with multiple Schrödinger dynamics

Yi‐Hao Kang, Ye‐Hong Chen, Qi‐Cheng Wu +3 more

In this paper, we present a protocol to generate a W state of three superconducting qubits (SQs) by using multiple Schrödinger dynamics. The three SQs are respective embedded in three different coplanar waveguide resonators (CPWRs), which are coupled to a superconducting coupler (SCC) qubit at the center of the setups. With the multiple Schrödinger dynamics, we build a shortcuts to adiabaticity (STA), which greatly accelerates the evolution of the system. The Rabi frequencies of the laser pulses being designed can be expressed by the superpositions of Gaussian functions via the curves fitting, so that they can be realized easily in experiments. What is more, numerical simulation result shows that the protocol is robust against control parameters variations and decoherence mechanisms, such as the dissipations from the CPWRs and the energy relaxation. In addition, the influences of the dephasing are also resisted on account of the accelerating for the dynamics. Thus, the performance of the protocol is much better than that with the conventional adiabatic passage techniques when the dephasing is taken into account. We hope the protocol could be implemented easily in experiments with current technology.

Generation of three-qubit Greenberger–Horne–Zeilinger state of superconducting qubits via transitionless quantum driving

Xu Zhang, Ye‐Hong Chen, Qi‐Cheng Wu +3 more

Abstract We present an efficient scheme to quickly generate three-qubit Greenberger–Horne–Zeilinger (GHZ) states by using three superconducting qubits (SQs) separated by two coplanar waveguide resonators (CPWRs) capacitively. The scheme is based on quantum Zeno dynamics and the approach of transitionless quantum driving to construct shortcuts to adiabatic passage. In order to highlight the advantages, we compare the present scheme with the traditional one with adiabatic passage. The comparison result shows the shortcut scheme is closely related to the adiabatic scheme but is better than it. Moreover, we discuss the influence of various decoherences with numerical simulation. The result proves that the present scheme is less sensitive to the energy relaxation, the decay of CPWRs and the deviations of the experimental parameters the same as the adiabatic passage. However, the shortcut scheme is effective and robust against the dephasing of SQs in comparison with the adiabatic scheme.

Fast generating W state of three superconducting qubits via Lewis–Riesenfeld invariants

Lin Yu, Jing Xu, Jin‐Lei Wu +1 more

We propose a scheme for a fast generating three-qubit W state in a superconducting system by using a technique of shortcuts to adiabaticity, Lewis–Riesenfeld invariants. Three identical superconducting qubits (SQs) are connected by two coplanar waveguide resonators (CPWRs) capacitively. Under a certain limit condition, we convert the complicated SQ system into a simple three-state system. By designing experimentally accessible harmonic pulses, a three-SQ W state is implemented with quite short operation time and high fidelity. Numerical simulations prove that the scheme is robust against the parameter deviation. In addition, we also give detailed discussion about the scheme robustness against decoherence.

Fast preparation of W states with superconducting quantum interference devices by using dressed states

Yi‐Hao Kang, Ye‐Hong Chen, Zhi‐Cheng Shi +2 more

In this paper, we propose a protocol to prepare $W$ states with superconducting quantum interference devices by using dressed states. Through choosing a set of dressed states suitably, the protocol can be used to accelerate the adiabatic passages while additional couplings are unnecessary. Moreover, we can optimize the evolution of the system with the restraint to the populations of the intermediate states by choosing suitable control parameters. Numerical simulations show that the protocol is robust against the parameter variations and decoherence mechanisms. Furthermore, the protocol is faster and more robust against the dephasing compared with that by the adiabatic passages. As for the Rabi frequencies of pulses designed by the method, they can be expressed by the linear superpositions of Gaussian functions, which does not increase difficulty in the experiments. In addition, the protocol could be controlled and manipulated easily in experiments with a circuit quantum electrodynamics system.

Fast population transfer and entanglement preparation among four superconducting flux qubits

Peng Xu, Shengmei Zhao

Abstract We propose a scheme whereby we optimized the driven pulses applied on qubits to realize fast and robust population of quantum state transfer and entanglement generation between four superconducting flux qubits based on adiabatic passage. The quantum state was transferred from one qubit to another directly with high fidelity through applying an inverted set of pulses. Moreover, the resident time of the quantum state populated on the qubits could be controlled by adjusting the time delay between the driven pulses during the transfer process. Analysis of the dynamics demonstrates that the scheme is insensitive to inhomogeneous qubit–resonator coupling, and even for large detuning regimes of the qubit–resonator interaction, high-fidelity quantum state transfer and entanglement generation can be obtained. Our results also show that the effect of decoherence due to resonator decay and qubit relaxation could be negligible with currently existing technology.

Fast generation of W state via superadiabatic-based shortcut in circuit quantum electrodynamics*

Xuemei Wang, Anqi Zhang, Peng Xu +1 more

We propose a scheme to fast prepare the three-qubit W state via superadiabatic-based shortcuts in a circuit quantum electrodynamics (circuit QED) system. We derive the effective Hamiltonian to suppress the unwanted transitions between different eigenstates by counterdiabatic driving, and obtain the W state with high-fidelity based on the superadiabatic passage. The numerical simulation results demonstrate that the proposed scheme can accelerate the evolution, and is more efficient than that with the adiabatic passage. In addition, the proposed scheme is robust to the decoherence caused by the resonator decay and qubit relaxation, and does not need additional parameters, which could be feasible in experiment.
