Abstract

In this paper, we propose a protocol to prepare $W$ states with superconducting quantum interference devices by using dressed states. Through choosing a set of dressed states suitably, the protocol can be used to accelerate the adiabatic passages while additional couplings are unnecessary. Moreover, we can optimize the evolution of the system with the restraint to the populations of the intermediate states by choosing suitable control parameters. Numerical simulations show that the protocol is robust against the parameter variations and decoherence mechanisms. Furthermore, the protocol is faster and more robust against the dephasing compared with that by the adiabatic passages. As for the Rabi frequencies of pulses designed by the method, they can be expressed by the linear superpositions of Gaussian functions, which does not increase difficulty in the experiments. In addition, the protocol could be controlled and manipulated easily in experiments with a circuit quantum electrodynamics system.

Fast generation of W states of superconducting qubits with multiple Schrödinger dynamics

Yi‐Hao Kang, Ye‐Hong Chen, Qi‐Cheng Wu +3 more

In this paper, we present a protocol to generate a W state of three superconducting qubits (SQs) by using multiple Schrödinger dynamics. The three SQs are respective embedded in three different coplanar waveguide resonators (CPWRs), which are coupled to a superconducting coupler (SCC) qubit at the center of the setups. With the multiple Schrödinger dynamics, we build a shortcuts to adiabaticity (STA), which greatly accelerates the evolution of the system. The Rabi frequencies of the laser pulses being designed can be expressed by the superpositions of Gaussian functions via the curves fitting, so that they can be realized easily in experiments. What is more, numerical simulation result shows that the protocol is robust against control parameters variations and decoherence mechanisms, such as the dissipations from the CPWRs and the energy relaxation. In addition, the influences of the dephasing are also resisted on account of the accelerating for the dynamics. Thus, the performance of the protocol is much better than that with the conventional adiabatic passage techniques when the dephasing is taken into account. We hope the protocol could be implemented easily in experiments with current technology.

High-fidelity generating multi-qubit W state via dressed states in the system of multiple resonators coupled with a superconducting qubit

Yu-Feng Yang, Ye‐Hong Chen, Qi‐Cheng Wu +3 more

In this paper, we present an alternative scheme to generate W state of three superconducting qubits in three spatially separated coplanar waveguide resonators with the quantum Zeno dynamics and the dressed states. When a set of dressed states is suitably chosen, a scheme can be designed for accelerating the adiabatic passage without additional couplings. What is more, the populations of the intermediate states of the system can be restricted by choosing suitable control parameters. We discuss the influence of dissipation and operational imperfection by numerical analysis and the results show that the scheme is robust against various decoherence processes. In addition, we hope the scheme can provide a theoretical basis for the manipulation of the multi-qubit quantum state.

Preparation of W State with Superconducting Quantum-Interference Devices in a Cavity via Adiabatic Passage

Anshou Zheng, Shen Xiao-Fang, Ji-Bing Liu +2 more

We propose an alternative scheme to prepare W state by using superconducting quantum-interference devices (SQUIDs) coupled to a largely-detuned cavity. The present scheme is based on evolution by adiabatic passage, where only by tuning adiabatically the Rabi frequencies of the classical microwave pulses we can obtain the standard W state without measurement or any auxiliary SQUIDs. Thus the procedure is simplified and the scheme can be achieved with very high success probability since the errors in dynamical or geometric ways can be avoided. In addition, the SQUID system and the cavity have no probability of being excited state. Thus decoherence caused by the excited-level spontaneous emission or the cavity decay is suppressed.

Speeding up Adiabatic Quantum State Transfer by Using Dressed States

Alexandre Baksic, Hugo Ribeiro, Aashish A. Clerk

We develop new pulse schemes to significantly speed up adiabatic state transfer protocols. Our general strategy involves adding corrections to an initial control Hamiltonian that harness nonadiabatic transitions. These corrections define a set of dressed states that the system follows exactly during the state transfer. We apply this approach to stimulated Raman adiabatic passage protocols and show that a suitable choice of dressed states allows one to design fast protocols that do not require additional couplings, while simultaneously minimizing the occupancy of the "intermediate" level.

Fast generation of W state via superadiabatic-based shortcut in circuit quantum electrodynamics*

Xuemei Wang, Anqi Zhang, Peng Xu +1 more

We propose a scheme to fast prepare the three-qubit W state via superadiabatic-based shortcuts in a circuit quantum electrodynamics (circuit QED) system. We derive the effective Hamiltonian to suppress the unwanted transitions between different eigenstates by counterdiabatic driving, and obtain the W state with high-fidelity based on the superadiabatic passage. The numerical simulation results demonstrate that the proposed scheme can accelerate the evolution, and is more efficient than that with the adiabatic passage. In addition, the proposed scheme is robust to the decoherence caused by the resonator decay and qubit relaxation, and does not need additional parameters, which could be feasible in experiment.

The method of stimulated Raman adiabatic passage is applied in order to coherently manipulate a three-level superconducting quantum interference device quantum bit with two microwave pulses. Simulations indicate that this method has the potential to allow for efficient control of the system for a wide range of pulse parameters.
