Generation of Arbitrary Lithographic Patterns and Three-Dimensional Atomic Holograms Using BEC Interferometry

Mohamed F. Fouda, Renpeng Fang, Mehjabin Sultana Monjur +2 more

We describe two applications for Bose-Einstein Condensate (BEC) based atomic interferometry: generation of arbitrary lithographic patterns and three dimensional atomic holograms, using light shift induced phase masks generated from optical interferometry and digital holography.

The theory and realization of atomic beam CGH

Shi Jian-Ping, Chen Xu-Nan, Gao Hong-Tao +2 more

The realization of atom-beam holography by computer generated hologram have been presented in this paper, which can decrease the difficulty of the atom holography. Firstly the wave nature and cooling mechanism of atoms are analyzed, then the design process and a facture of the atomic SiN film hologram is shown, and finally we present a theoretical plan and the picture of an experiment system.

Gray-Scale Atom Holography

T. Kishimoto, Jun‐ichi Fujita, S. Mitake +1 more

A gray-scale photographic image of atoms has been generated by using a computer-designed thin-film hologram. An ultra-cold neon atomic beam in the 1s 3 state was transmitted through a thin-film binary hologram made of SiN4 and generated a pattern of atoms on a micro-channel plate detector. The design and the quality evaluation of the hologram for gray-scale pictures are discussed theoretically. The validity of the theoretical analysis has been tested by a hologram that generated a simple test pattern.
