A security enhancement approach in quantum cryptography

Abstract

Security in quantum cryptography algorithms is one of the main research directions in the field of quantum cryptography. This paper proposes a new algorithm which provides two phase security to the quantum cryptography System. In the proposed Algorithm the presence of the eavesdropper will not affect the security of the system as the secret key bits are modified at both Sender and Receiver end based on the concept of prime factor. Hence provide a more effective method which will make quantum cryptography more efficient and robust.

A secure approach of eavesdropper detection in quantum key distribution

Akash Shrivastava, Anirudh Verma

Security in quantum cryptography plays a vital role in making the quantum cryptography system efficient. This paper proposes a new technology in which the presence of the eavesdropper is detected as he gets deceived by the sender to transmit a photon which is not expected by the receiver hence his presence gets detected. Hence provide a more effective method which will detect the presence of eavesdropper precisely and efficiently.

Increasing the Protocol Gain of Quantum Cryptography

Firas A. Al-Juboori, Noor Kareem Juma, a Al-Mandilawi

Quantum cryptography is a technique to distribute a sequence of truly random and unconditionally secure bits over a secure communication by applying the phenomena of quantum physics. The distributed secret bits perform the secret key which is used later to encrypt messages with an encryption algorithm, usually the One-Time-Pad is used. Quantum Key Distribution solves the security problem in classical cryptography by depending on the laws of physics which is focusing on the physics of information. Quantum protocol gain usually is low due to the quantum channel noise and the difference between the photon polarization at the sender and receiver side; in this research, a method is proposed to increase the protocol gain without decreasing the security level of quantum key. BB84 quantum key distribution algorithm is implemented and simulated with MATLAB R2010a simulation; and a comparison is made with A. Singh and N. Sharma [14] results.

A Review on Quantum Cryptography Technology

Piya Techateerawat

Nowadays, the information is exchanged among the computer network. These data and information are involved in business, military, academic education, research and etc. which are shared around the world in both private and public network. Since, many categories of data are required restriction on authorization of access, modify, delete and insert, security in communication is increasingly important to the network communication. Currently, computer security applies mathematic theory to computer security for encrypting and decrypting on both sender and receiver. To use security attack with high performance computer (e.g. quantum computer), attacker can find a key and then obtains the data in feasible period. Quantum cryptography is one of the solutions that use property of polarization to ensure that transmitted data is not trapped by eavesdropper. Quantum cryptography is improved significantly in the last decades including the most two dominant protocol BB84 and BB92.

An Invention of Quantum Cryptography over the Classical Cryptography for Enhancing Security

Payal P. Wasankar, Pranjal Soni

Quantum Cryptography is based on the use of subatomic particles (photons) and their intrinsic quantum properties (photon polarization) to develop an unbreakable system. It is not possible to measure the quantum state of any system without affecting the system. This property provides secure transmission of key between sender and receiver. Quantum Cryptography is a way to combine the relative ease and convenience of key exchange in public key cryptography with the ultimate security of a one-time pad. Quantum techniques for key distribution, the classically impossible task of distributing secret information over an insecure channel whose transmissions are subject to inspection by an eavesdropper, between parties who share no secret key initially. Quantum Cryptography uses the principles of Quantum Mechanics to implement a cryptographic system. The key problem which is solved by using quantum techniques is that of eavesdropping detection. The bits are represented as qubits, physically modeled by photons, and communicated over a quantum channel. The polarization states of photons represent 0's and 1's.
