Atomic Squeezing Properties in Raman-Coupled Bose-Einstein Condensates

Abstract

In this paper atomic squeezing properties in Roman-Coupled Bose-Einstein Condensate are studied analytically and numerically. The dependence of single-mode squeezing on the parameters is investigated in detail. It is found that the degree of single-mode squeezing can be enhanced by increasing the initial intensity of the field in this mode and decreasing the initial intensity of the field in other mode

Squeezing properties of atom and light in system of squeezed vacuum field Raman interacting with two coupled-atoms

Fengqin Zhang

The dipole difference squeezing of a pair atoms is defined. The time evolution properties of difference squeezing of atomic dipole and amplitude-squared squeezing of light in the system of a single-mode squeezing vacuum field Raman interacting with two coupled-atoms are studied by means of quantum theory. Using the numerical method, influences of the initial squeezing parameter of light, the atomic initial state and the intensity of dipole-dipole interaction between atoms on the squeezing properties of atom and light are discussed.

The Hamiltonian operator of two-mode light field interacting with Bose-Einstein condensate(BEC) of two-level atoms is improved in terms of the lattice-liquid model, and the squeezing properties of two-mode squeezed field interacting with Bose-Einstein condensate of two-level atoms are studied. The results show that two quadrature components of light can be squeezed periodically, the maximum depth of squeezing is closely correlated to the initial squeezing parameter of light, and the duration is determined by the frequency of the light field.

Squeezing properties of atom laser from two-level atomic Bose-Einstein condensate interacting with two-mode light field

Ming Li, Chen Cui-Ling

The Hamiltonian operator of a system of two-level atomic Bose-Einstein condensate interacting with two-mode squeezed coherent light field is improved in terms of the lattice-liquid model. The squeezing properties of atom laser in this system are studied. Results show that the two quadrature components of the atom laser can be squeezed periodically, and the maximum depth depends greatly on the initial squeezing factor of the light field. The collapse-revival oscillatory frequency of the atom laser and the quantum Rabi frequency are largely determined by the interaction intensity between the light field and the atoms and by the circle frequency of the light field, respectively.

Quantum squeezing and entanglement in a two-mode Bose-Einstein condensate with time-dependent Josephson-like coupling

Seok Jin Choi, N. P. Bigelow

Dynamical evolution of quantum mechanical squeezing and entanglement in a two-mode Bose-Einstein condensate (TBEC) with an adiabatic, time-varying Raman coupling is studied by finding analytical expressions for these quantities. In particular, we study the entanglement between the atoms in the condensate as well as that between the two modes. The nature of the enhanced quantum correlations in TBEC is clarified by considering squeezing and entanglement both with and without the nonlinear interaction turned on; it is found that entanglement approaching maximal value can be achieved with the nonlinear interactions present. Somewhat counterintuitively, greater squeezing is found in the absence of nonlinear interactions. This is due to the collapses and revivals of the TBEC quantum state induced by the nonlinear interactions. In addition, results involving the self-trapping phase state of TBEC indicate potential for creating a dynamically stable, macroscopic entangled quantum state which is relatively robust with respect to atom number fluctuations.
