The Influence of the Quantum Information Science on Information Security

Zhou Xu-fen

The quantum information science is the science of quantum information processing technology. The quantum information processing technology includes quantum computing technology, quantum cryptography and quantum communication technologies, its impact on information security is great. The quantum computers and quantum algorithms made many difficult math problems solved easily, that is a direct threat to many of the traditional cryptography, and the anti-quantum attacks cryptographic algorithms became the focus of the theoretical research. Quantum cryptography and quantum teleportation can effectively improve the security of quantum communication networks and quantum signature technology. People encountered many challenges in the process of studying quantum information science, also made gratifying progress. People should adequately predict the impact of quantum informatics science on commercial, military, network, banking areas at the information age.

A Survey on Various Aspects of Quantum Cryptography

Rajesh Kumar Pateriya, Dr.J.L. Rana, Anupriya Gupta

In the era of information technology the need for secure communication has become increasingly important. Cryptography is a technology for creating the core of information security we use cryptography for making data secure which is the science of information protection from unauthorized interception and tempering. Most modern cryptographic studies design cryptosystems and algorithms using mathematical concepts which are based either on factorization or on discrete logarithm problem. In recent years quantum information research has lead to the discovery of a number of remarkable new paradigms for information processing and communication. These developments include quantum cryptography schemes that offer unconditionally secure information transport guaranteed by quantum-mechanical laws, which provide protection of system security, and optimization of system efficiency and detects intrusion and wiretap. Today quantum cryptography is used in various application for transferring secure data without the fear of keys being compromised. This paper reviews the various areas where quantum  cryptography is successfully implemented, its advantages disadvantages & technical issues.

Quantum cryptography: An emerging technology in network security

Mehrdad S. Sharbaf

The uses of computer communications networks technologies have increased the incidents of computer abuse. Because of these incidents, most organizations facing pressure to protect their assets. Most digital networks generally rely on modern cryptosystems to secure the confidentiality and integrity of traffic carried across the network. The current modern cryptosystems based on mathematical model introduce potential security holes related to technological progress of computing power, the key refresh rate and key expansion ratio, the most crucial parameters in the security of any cryptographic techniques. For that reason efforts have been made to establish new foundation for cryptography science in the computer communications networks. One of these efforts has led to the development of quantum cryptography technology, whose security relies on the laws of quantum mechanics [1,2,3,20, 24]. This research paper concentrates on quantum cryptography, and how this technology contributes to the network security. The scope of this research paper is to cover the weaknesses, and the security pitfalls in modern cryptography, fundamental concepts of quantum cryptography, the real - world application implementation of this technology, finally the future direction in which the quantum cryptography is headed forwards.

Quantum Information Security Protocols and Quantum Coding Theory

Xin Lu, Zhi Ma

Quantum computation has important impacts on information security and modern cryptography. In 1994, Shor demonstrated that the problem of finding the prim factors of an integer, and the so called "discrete logarithm problem" could be solved efficiently on a quantum computer. Quantum information can also be proved to devise unconditionally secure cryptography protocols. In this paper, we introduce the most recent research progress in quantum information security and quantum coding theory and review several quantum quantum cryptography protocols that we have proposed.

Applications of Quantum Computing in Cryptography

Pramod Mahadeo Durge

A recent development in computer technology is quantum computing. With quantum computing, we will now be able to perform extremely complicated jobs that are extremely challenging for conventional computers with ease. Because quantum computing offers enormous processing power that can solve issues that are extremely challenging for conventional computers, it is revolutionizing modern technology. The impact of quantum computing on current cryptography will be discussed in this paper. The dual nature of quantum computing in the context of cryptography is examined in this study, along with the opportunity it offers for creating quantum-resistant algorithms and the difficulties it brings for current cryptographic frameworks. This paper emphasizes the critical need for cryptographic procedures to be modified in order to protect sensitive data from the capabilities of quantum computers through an analysis of recent research and advancements in the field.

O IMPACTO DA COMPUTAÇÃO QUÂNTICA NA CRIPTOGRAFIA MODERNA

Éric D’Andréa Rapatão, Renata Mirella Faria

ABSTRACT Quantum computing represents one of the most significant technological transformations of the 21st century, with the potential to profoundly alter the foundations of information security. This study aims to analyze the impacts of quantum computing on modern cryptographic systems, investigating both the threats posed by quantum algorithms and the protective alternatives currently under development. The research was carried out through a qualitative bibliographic review based on books, scientific articles, and technical publications in the fields of cryptography and quantum computing. The study examined Shor’s and Grover’s algorithms, demonstrating how their mathematical properties undermine classical cryptographic models, particularly public-key systems such as RSA. It also explored post-quantum and quantum cryptographic approaches, highlighting lattice-based solutions and quantum key distribution (QKD). The results indicate that, although quantum computing presents a real threat to digital security, it also drives the emergence of more resilient and innovative cryptographic techniques. It is concluded that the transition to a post-quantum era demands careful planning, international standardization, and continuous investment in research and infrastructure.
