High-speed modulation of quantum state by optical soliton

OpenAlex

Abstract

A modulation method of a quantum communication system is studied and a scheme of modulating quantum states in high-speed with soliton is proposed in the paper. The transmission evolution of soliton in NLSE optic fiber and in SIT media is demonstrated by modulating communication channel of quantum state, respectively. It is concluded that two-component transmission line can produce quantum entangled states (or squeezed states) in the soliton transmission. The wavicle of light is used for the modulation and the properties of quantum and soliton are fused. This scheme is a development trend for future quantum communication.

A study of modulating quantum optical communication system

HE Qi-si

The channel can be used for transmmiting quantum states. The paper provides the project of modulating quantum states with soliton on the basis of wave-particle duality. It demonstrates that the quantum entangled states(or squeezed states) can be produced in the soliton transmitting. The project can avoid the series problems caused by quantum long distance transmission,e.g.quantum repeater.

Generation and manipulation of squeezed states of light in optical networks for quantum communication and computation

Maxim Raginsky, Prem Kumar

We analyse a fiber-optic component which could have multiple uses in novel information processing systems utilizing squeezed states of light. Our approach is based on the phenomenon of photon-number squeezing of soliton noise after the soliton has propagated through a nonlinear optical fiber. Application of this component in optical networks for quantum computation and quantum cryptography are discussed.

Multichannel quantum system of fiber-optics secure communication

О. К. Барановский, Иван Романович Гулаков, Евгений Викторович Василиу +2 more

The method and the scheme of multichannel quantum system of secure communication for transfer of confidential data on optical fiber are developed. The considered scheme combines quantum key distribution with quantum secure data transmission. Such approach does not give possibility to the eavesdropper to decipher that part of information, which he can receive before the detection. The suggested scheme provides higher security level of transferred confidential information, than known, which use traditional pro-tocols of symmetric enciphering in a combination to quantum key distribution. It is found out that for the transmission protected in such a way on optical fiber the choice of wavelengths of 850 and 1625 nanometers is optimum. It is found out that when using in such systems of the avalanche photo diode FD-115L it is possible to provide a speed of information transfer up to 0,8 Mbps in one channel. For increase in speed of transfer, it is proposed to use two and more channels of transfer.

A method of quantum communication using sideband-modulated infrared emission

Andrii Аleksieiev, M.I. Prokofiev, Петро Шпатар

The method of quantum communication using sideband-modulated emission allows for efficient integration of devices constructed on this principle into optical fiber communication lines due to a number of advantages, including the absence of complex distributed interference schemes, simplification of the phase alignment task of the transmitter and receiver modules, and a significant increase in spectral efficiency of the use of the optical fiber communication line [1, 2]. The development of low-loss quantum communication methods using sideband frequencies, the efficiency of which does not depend on uncontrolled polarization change in the communication channel, and the development of methods for high-speed generation of quantum states are important theoretical and practical tasks. A semiconductor frequency-tunable laser with a central wavelength of 1550 nm, a bandwidth of 1.5 MHz, and a tuning step of 0.005 nm was used as the radiation source. The signal attenuation in the filter band is 43 dB, which allows to apply a modulation index of 0.05 with a contribution of the central wavelength to the quantum bit error rate of not more than 0.1%. The error rate when using the compensation scheme does not exceed 0.5%. The losses in the receiving module are 6.4 dB, which consist of losses of each modulator, on the polarization beam splitter, mixer, filter, and optical connectors.

In this paper, quantum field equation of optical solition squeezed states are obtained by means of heat reservoir theory in quantum optics. The effect of fiber losses are accounted in this quantum nonlinear schrodinger equation by which the transmission properties of optical solition squeezed states can be discussed.
