Abstract

The paper attempts to explain, from the principle of quantum mechanics , the result of quantum mechanics is the natural obstacle to the existing computer technology--10 10 m is the limit of the integration of the fuse slice. The reason is also discussed why quantum computers have powerful computation ability --the related effect of the quantum entanglement. Some possible plans of the quantum computers are proposed. It is pointed out that microphyics and the existing technology of computers should be combined in the research of quantum computers.

Review of Quantum Computing

Ziwei MENG

Quantum computer is a computational framework based on Quantum Mechanism, which is receiving more and more attentions during the last few decades. It has reached remarkable success on some specific tasks comparing with classical computers. In this paper, we summarize the latest progress of this area, including fundamental knowledge, varying state-of-the-art quantum algorithms and physical implementation of quantum computers. This paper discusses the reason of quantum computer's powerful computing ability — the correlation effect between quantum entangled states. Several possible schemes of quantum computer are introduced. It is pointed out that the research of quantum computer needs the combination of the most advanced micro physical technology and computer technology.

Quantum computers: where physics meets computer science

SOFIA MAVROGIORGOU

Quantum Physics is defined as “the study of matter and energy at the most fundamental level”. It has entirely transformed our perspective of the physical world and is also the foundation of numerous technological advancements. More specifically, quantum mechanics has been applied in sectors such as medicine and biology, with quantum computing emerging as the most prominent among them. [5] The primary objective of this study is to analyse the concepts of quantum computing, focusing on what quantum computers are, how they function, as well as outline and explain the differences between them and standard computational models (classic computers). Furthermore, their relation to the laws of physics will be discussed. Secondarily, this article aims to provide recent achievements, such as existing quantum computers and plans concerning the future so as to underline the role quantum physics will play, shaping the frontier of computation.

Introduction to Quantum Computing

Surya Teja Marella, Hemanth Sai Kumar Parisa

Quantum computing is a modern way of computing that is based on the science of quantum mechanics and its unbelievable phenomena. It is a beautiful combination of physics, mathematics, computer science and information theory. It provides high computational power, less energy consumption and exponential speed over classical computers by controlling the behavior of small physical objects i.e. microscopic particles like atoms, electrons, photons, etc. Here, we present an introduction to the fundamental concepts and some ideas of quantum computing. This paper starts with the origin of traditional computing and discusses all the improvements and transformations that have been done due to their limitations until now. Then it moves on to the basic working of quantum computing and the quantum properties it follows like superposition, entanglement and interference. To understand the full potentials and challenges of a practical quantum computer that can be launched commercially, the paper covers the architecture, hardware, software, design, types and algorithms that are specifically required by the quantum computers. It uncovers the capability of quantum computers that can impact our lives in various viewpoints like cyber security, traffic optimization, medicines, artificial intelligence and many more. At last, we concluded all the importance, advantages and disadvantages of quantum computers. Small-scale quantum computers are being developed recently. This development is heading towards a great future due to their high potential capabilities and advancements in ongoing research. Before focusing on the significances of a general-purpose quantum computer and exploring the power of the new arising technology, it is better to review the origin, potentials, and limitations of the existing traditional computing. This information helps us in understanding the possible challenges in developing exotic and competitive technology. It will also give us an insight into the ongoing progress in this field.

The Realization and Outlook of Quantum Computer

Li Chao Feng

Quantum mechanics is a branch of physics that studies micro particle's identity and the Law of it's motion. Combining with computer science it develops a new subject-Quantum Informatics, namely Quantum Computer. This article introduces the two limitations of traditional computers firstly, bringing out the background of researching quantum computer, then elaborates it's working theory and the influence it brings. Finally, it introduces the result of quantum computer's research in recent years and the development foreground in the future.

A Physical Basis for Entanglement in a Non-Local Hidden Variable Theory

Dirk John Pons, Arion Douglas Pons, Aiden Jasper Pons

Problem: Superposition and entanglement are coherent effects, which can be quantified by quantum mechanics (QM), but lack descriptive explanations. They are typically analysed with inequality methods, and the results favour QM and reject physical realism and hidden-variable solutions. In particular, Colbeck & Renner (2011) showed that no extension of quantum theory can exist with better predictive power than quantum mechanics itself. Purpose: The purpose here is to critically evaluate from a conceptual and philosophical perspective the ontological underpinnings of the inequality approach. The current work is speculative in nature as it is based on a conjectured non-local hidden-variable (NLHV) design for particles, and does not yet have a mathematical formalism. Nonetheless this is worth attempting for the philosophical questions it poses about the nature of reality, and the pointers it gives to possible future directions in fundamental physics. Findings: The premises of the C & R proof (that particles are points, that locality exists, that quantum theory is correct) are inconsistent, hence invalidate its conclusion. We also show that superposition and entanglement may be qualitatively explained if particles were to have the internal structure proposed by the Cordus NLHV theory. Originality: The ability to explain superposition and entanglement conceptually in terms of physical realism is relevant because it rebuts the claim that it is impossible that such a hidden-variable theory could exist. This is significant because previously it has been believed that these phenomena are explainable by QM only.

The Power Of Quantum Computer And Its Limitations

Bahari Idrus Siti Munirah Mohd

Quantum computers have grown as an essential study in the field of physics and computer science throughout the country since 20 years ago although at the time, the existence of quantum computers is still a mystery. However, studies on quantum computers have successfully provided a new breath in the development of the latest technology. Thus, the brief descriptions in this paper are aimed to guide computer science experts to fully understand how the quantum computer differs from the current computer. Next, this study will explain the basic concepts of quantum mechanics that make quantum computers more powerful than other computers today. Then, two algorithms that apply the concepts in quantum computers will also be explained in details. Finally, this paper will describes the constraints faced when developing quantum computers in reality
