Abstract

WT5BZ]AC-Stark level shifts of two-level atom are calculated when quantized field in number state interacts with atom. The timeaveraged level shifts display the dispersion shape with the change of frequency of field mode and can reach saturation with the increase of photon number in field mode. In addition, it is also found that quantized field can still shift atomic level even if the photon number in field equals zero. [WT5HZ]

The Effect of Photon Statistics on AC Stark Shift of Atomic Level

DONG TAI-QIAN

WT5BZ]Based on the AC Stark shifts of atomic level induced by the single-mode quantized field in coherent state and thermal state, the effect of photon statistics on the level shifts is analyzed. These level shifts contain the information of photon statistics, which indicates that statistical property of optical field can be studied by virtue of AC Stark effect of a atom. [WT5HZ]

By analyzing the phase of transition probability amplitude,a formula for level shift induced by the time-dependent perturbation of quantum transition is given.AC-Stark shifts of the levels in two-level atoms are calculated, which are induced by mono-mode quantized field. The calculated results indicate that the quantum statistic property can directly influence the atomic level shift.

Influences of ac Stark shifts on coherent population trapping in the atom-field coupling system via Raman two-photon processes

Gao‐xiang Li, Jin-sheng Peng

By means of adiabatically eliminating the upper level or levels of a \ensuremath{\Lambda}-configuration atom coupling to a two-mode quantized field, we have studied the influences of ac Stark shifts on the atomic coherent population trapping in two important atom-field coupling systems via nondegenerate Raman two-photon processes. The states of the field that trap the atom in its two nondegenerate lower levels are obtained, and the important roles of ac Stark shifts and properties of the atomic upper level or levels in the states of the trapping field in two Raman-coupling systems are also analyzed.

The influence of relaxation course on AC-Zeeman(Stark) level shift of atom

Xing Ai

Based on the theory of decay Bloch equation, the AC Zeeman(Stark) level shifts of two level atom are calculated. The calculated results indicate that the longitudinal and transverse relaxation courses can influence the level shift of atom. Level shifts of atom display different change trend respectively with the changes of longitudinal and transverse rates. Relative intensity of two relaxation courses can influence directly the dispersion property and saturation property.

The cavity field spectrum of an atom interacting with two-mode field through non-degenerate Raman coupling with the presence of AC-Stark shift in an ideal cavity is investigated. The results for the atom in the low-level state and the initial fields in pure number states, coherent states, and squeezed vacuum states are calculated. When the initial fields are in number states, the three-peak structure of each model cavity field spectra appear for weak fields, and two-peak or single-peak structure appear for strong fields. When both field modes are in a superposition of number states initially, the cavity field spectra are generally of two-peak structure. With the increase of γ=g2/g1,one peak rises and the other peak reduces.

Two-photon ac-Stark effect in Raman-Ramsey Interactions

Junhai Zhang, Jingbiao Chen

For the two-photon ac Stark effect in Raman-Ramsey configuration, such as the Raman clock, and pulsed CPT clock configuration, an interference phenomenon of two-photon ac Stark effect is predicted. Here we report this new physical phenomenon, the interference of two-photon ac Stark effect in two-zone Raman-Ramsey interactions, which is general in any Raman-Ramsey spectroscopy. In particular, for an atomic beam Raman clock configuration, the ac Stark shift will present an interference fringe caused by the separated oscillatory-field interaction when the shift fields interact with atoms at two zones. On the center of dispersion shape of normal ac-Stark shift, an interference pattern appeared when the scale of frequency detuning is expanded.
