Abstract

The Pancharatnam phase properties of two coupling-atoms and a single-mode squeezed state light field in nonlinear Kerr medium were studied.Selecting proper initial conditions to solve the Schrodinger equation by the rotating wave approximation, and the Pancharatnam phase specific form was obtained. The results show that the two coupling-atoms' initial states are in any form, the Pancharatnam phase frequency increases when the interaction strength between atoms and light field, and the dipole-dipole coupling strength between two atoms or the Kerr medium's nonlinearity increases. The Pancharatnam phase evolution shows obvious trend of oscillating and rising(or fall) when the initial state is that two atoms are both in the excited states. As the growth of the Kerr medium'nonlinearity, the Pancharatnam phase evolution becomes disordered when the initial state is that just one atom is in excited state.

Pancharatnam Phase in a Tavis-Cummings Model with Nonlinearity

廖浩祥 LIAO Hao-xiang, 王发强 WANG Fa-qiang, 梁瑞生 LIANG Rui-sheng

The Pancharatnam phase of a Tavis-Cummings model with the coherent state in Kerr medium is investigated theoretically and numerically. An exact expression of the Pancharatnam phase under this general system is obtained. The numerical results show that the dipole-dipole coupling strength between two atoms can change the quasi-period of the Pancharatnam phase evolution, and it is also proved that the Pancharatnam phase contains the information of atoms and the field. In the nonlinear interaction regime, the nonlinearity can cause the chaotic behavior of the Pancharatnam phase.

The disentangled-state in the two-photon Jaynes-Cumming model with a Kerr-like medium

Wei Wei, Guo Guang-Can

The pure-state dynamical evolution of the atomic as well as the field states in the two-photon Jaynes-Cumming model with a Kerr-like medium for the field initially in the coherent state is investigated under the high-field approximation ( ≫ 1). Analytic expressions of the disentanglement conditions and the relevant disentangled states are derived, which are closely related to Kerr nonlinear coupling constant. This study also reveals that the initial atomic excited state can be evolved into the atomic dipole squeezed state.

Influence of Kerr Effect on the Atomic Occupancy in the Tavis-Cummings Model in Kerr Medium

Huang Zu-hong

?The time evolution of atomic occupancy in the system of two-mode squeezing vacuum field interacting with two coupled atoms in Kerr medium is studied by means of quantum theory. The influences of initial squeezed parameter r and coupled constant χ are discussed. The results show the periods of the collapses-revivals become short up to disappearance, as well as the amplitude of oscillations decreases with increasing the Kerr effect.

Quantum properties of light in the two-photon T-C model in Kerr medium

Fang Jia-Yuan, Xiaohong Yan, Ming Tao Zhou +2 more

In this paper, the quantum properties of light in a system of two coupling atoms interacting with a single-model squeezed vacuum field at the two-photon transition in Kerr medium are studied by means of quantum theory. The influences of the Kerr medium and the dipole-dipole interaction between atoms are discussed. The results show that when the Kerr effect and the dipole-dipole interaction between atoms may be neglected, the fluctuation of U2 can be squeezed periodically. With increasing the Kerr effect and the dipole-dipole interaction between atoms, the squeezing effect of light gradually becomes weak and the squeezing time of light gradually decreases. The periodical collapse-revival phenomenon of the time evolution of the second-order coherence degree of the field appears, which is caused by the influence of the Kerr effect and the dipole-dipole interaction between atoms. No matter how large are the coupling constants, the photon bunching always appears.

Quantum Properties of the Field in the System of Coupled V-type Three-level Atoms Interacting with Coherent Field in Kerr Medium

李可 Li Ke, 令维军 Ling Weijun

The quantum properties of the light field in the system of two coupled V-type atoms interacting with coherent field in Kerr medium were studied. The solution describing the dynamics process of the system was gained by means of the coupled Tavis-Cummings model in quantum optics.Influences of the initial state, the detuning of the field, the coupling strength of dipole-dipole interaction between atoms and Kerr coefficient on the second-order correlation function and the squeezing parameter of the field were discussed.Numerical calculation results show: when the average photon number of the field in the initial state is smaller, the field exhibits apparent quantum effect;when the probability amplitude of the excited states of the atoms in the initial state changing from small to large, the anti-bunching effect of the field becomes more obvious, but the squeezing depth increase at first and then decrease;the detuning changing create small influence on the quantum properties of the field, its changing only change the oscillating period of the second-correlation function and the squeezing parameter of the field;the increasing of the coupling strength between the atoms weaken the anti-bunching effect of the field and make the squeezing depth become shallow;the increasing of Kerr coefficient enhances the anti-bunching effect of the field, but makes the squeezing depth become shallow.

Study of Squeezing Properties in a Two-level System

Rui-hua Xie, Gong-ou Xu, Dun-huan Liu

We have studied the squeezing properties of a field and atom in a two-level system. The influence of nonlinear interactions (Le. the arbitrary intensity-dependent coupling of a single-mode field to a single two-level atom, the nonlinear interaction of the field with a nonlinear Kerr-like medium) on the squeezing is discussed in detail in the rotating wave approximation (RWA). We show numerically that the effect of the virtual-photon field suppresses dipole squeezing predicted in the RWA and leads to an increased squeeze revival period; the suppressed squeezing can be revived due to the presence of the nonlinear Kerr-like medium.
