Abstract

We study the one-excitation dynamics for the system comprising two two-level atoms resonantly interacting with two coupled cavities. The evolution of the atom's occupancy is investigated. The influences of coupling constant between cavities on the evolution of the atom's occupancy are discussed. The results obtained show that the evolution of the atom's occupancy displays collapse and revival effect when the coupling constant between cavities is much smaller than coupling constant between atom and cavity, and it displays periodicity when the coupling constant between cavities is much larger than coupling constant between atom and cavity.

The evolution of three-body entanglement in the system of atoms interacting with coupled cavities

LU Dao-ming

In this paper we consider the situation that four identical two-level atoms are separately trapped in coupled single-mode optical cavities and each atom resonantly interacts with cavity via a one-photon hopping. The three-body entanglement dynamics in each cavity is studied. The influences of atom-cavity coupling constant on the three-body entanglement are discussed. The results obtained using the numerical method show that the three-body entanglement displays the collapse-revival phenomena when atom-cavity coupling constant is larger than a fixed value. On the other hand, the three-body entanglement is the result of the coherent superposition of the two-body entanglements.

The two-excitation system comprising two two-level atoms resonantly interacting with two coupled cavities is analyzed. The evolution of the state vector of the system is given when the total excitation number equals two.By means of the numerical calculations, the temporal evolution in the entanglement is investigated between the atoms, between the cavities,as well as between the atom and the local cavity mode. The influences of coupling constant between cavities on the entanglements are discussed. The results obtained show that atom and atom are separable, and the cavity-cavity entanglement and the atom-cavity entanglement are weakened with increasing of the coupling constant between cavities.

Evolution of Fidelity in the System of Atoms Interacting with Coupled Cavities

LU Dao-min

The evolutions of system fidelity, atomic fidelity and cavity fidelity in the system of atoms interacting with coupled cavities were investigated considering two coupled cavities each containing one two-level atom and the atom interacts resonantly with cavity field. The temporal evolutions of system fidelity, atomic fidelity and cavity field fidelity were calculated and the influence of cavity-cavity coupling coefficient on the fidelity was discussed. The results show that when cavity-cavity coupling coefficient is small, the system fidelity and atomic fidelity all display irregular oscillations. When cavity-cavity coupling coefficient is greater than a certain value, they all display quasi-periodic oscillations. The fidelity of cavity field displays periodic oscillation, and its oscillation frequency increases with increase of cavity-cavity coupling coefficient. On the other hand, atomic fidelity is weakened, and the fidelity of cavity field is strengthened with increase of cavity-cavity coupling coefficient.

Quantum properties of the field in the system of two atoms trapped in coupled cavities

We study the two-excitation system comprising two two-level atoms resonantly interacting with two coupled cavities. The evolution of the state vector of the system is given.By means of the numerical calculations,we investigate the evolution of the second-order correlation function of the field and that of Mandel Q function. The influences of coupling constant between cavities and state-selective measurement of the atom on the second-order correlation function and Mandel Q function are discussed. The results obtained show that the second-order correlation function or Mandel Q function has a nonlinear relation with increasing of the cavity-cavity coupling coefficient. On the other hand, the sub-Poissonian distribution of the field can be strengthened through the state-selective measurement on the atom.
