Abstract

A scheme to generate entanglement in a cavity optomechanical system filled with atomic medium was proposed. If the coupling between the cavity field and atom medium is suitable, the entanglement is obtained between the cavity and movable mirror, between the mirror and atom,as well as between the cavity mode and atom.Furthermore, numerical solutions are given by employing logarithmic negativity to quantify the entanglement including the cavity losses.

Transfer and preservation of entanglement in a hybrid optomechanical system

We propose a scheme for entangling a movable mirror and two atomic ensembles in a coupled hybrid optomechanical system. Using the logarithmic negativity for the entanglement measure, we analyze the effect of the coupling strength between the two cavities on the entanglement of the movable mirror and the atomic ensembles, and we analyze the effect of the atom-cavity coupling constant on the entanglement of the movable mirror and the atomic ensembles. It is found that the entanglements of the movable mirror with one atomic ensemble transfer to the movable mirror with another atomic ensemble, and the robustness of the entanglement is enhanced by the coupling between the two cavities. The entanglements between the movable mirror and atomic ensembles are enhanced together with atom-cavity coupling increasing, and the entanglements have maxima in the accessibly parameters regime of the atom-cavity coupling constant.

A scheme to generate entanglement in a cavity optomechanical system filled with an optical parametric amplifier is proposed. With the help of the optical parametric amplifier, the stationary macroscopic entanglement between the movable mirror and the cavity field can be notably enhanced, and the entanglement increases when the parametric gain increases. Moreover, for a given parametric gain, the degree of entanglement of the cavity optomechanical system increases with increasing input laser power.

Enhanced entanglement and output squeezing of optomechanical system via a single four-level atom

Guixia Pan, Ruijie Xiao, Juan Gao

Abstract A scheme is addressed to generate the macroscopic entanglement and the output squeezing of optomechanical system with a single four-level atom. Applying the logarithmic negativity to measure entanglement, we analyze the effect of the coupling strength between the cavity and the atom on the entanglement of the cavity and the movable mirror. It is found that the robustness of the entanglement is enhanced with increasing of atom-cavity coupling, and the entanglement has a valley around when Δ is equal to ω m . Furthermore, we also analyze the output entanglement. The results show that the frequency of the mirror oscillation and the Rabi frequency of laser field affect the output squeezing spectrum.

Optomechanical entanglement at room temperature: A simulation study with realistic conditions

Quantum entanglement is the key to many applications like quantum key distribution, quantum teleportation, and quantum sensing. However, reliably generating quantum entanglement in macroscopic systems has proven to be a challenge. Here, we present a detailed analysis of ponderomotive entanglement generation in a movable-end-mirror-type optomechanical cavity. These cavities utilize optomechanical interactions between the intracavity field and the end mirror to create quantum correlations. We numerically calculate an entanglement measure, the logarithmic negativity, for the quantitative assessment of the entanglement. Experimental limitations, including thermal noise and optical loss, from measurements of an existing experiment were included in the calculation, which is intractable to solve analytically. This analysis shows that lowering optical losses and measurement uncertainties is more important than temperature for observation of the entanglement in movable-end-mirror-type optomechanical cavity experiments. This work will play an important role in the development of ponderomotive entanglement devices.

Effective scheme for enhancing entanglement in distant optomechanical system by injecting the atomic medium

Zhi‐Cheng Shi, Yan Xia, Jie Song

In this paper, we propose a method to enhance the steady-state entanglement between cavity fields and mechanical modes by injecting atomic media into the cavities. The atomic medium interaction with the cavities can change the effective decay rate of the photons and the radiation pressure of the cavity fields on the two mirrors. Thus it provides us with a way to enhance the quantum entanglement in the optomechanical system.

Optomechanical Entanglement between a Movable Mirror and a Cavity Field

David Vitali, Sylvain Gigan, Aires Ferreira +6 more

We show how stationary entanglement between an optical cavity field mode and a macroscopic vibrating mirror can be generated by means of radiation pressure. We also show how the generated optomechanical entanglement can be quantified, and we suggest an experimental readout scheme to fully characterize the entangled state. Surprisingly, such optomechanical entanglement is shown to persist for environment temperatures above 20 K using state-of-the-art experimental parameters.
