Enhanced entanglement between a movable mirror and a cavity field assisted by two-level atoms

Abstract

A scheme to generate stationary entanglement in a Fabry-Perot cavity with two-level atoms is proposed in the current paper. The mechanism through which radiation pressure can generate steady-state entanglement is also presented. Moreover, the bipartite entanglement in the field-mirror subsystem is quantified. Logarithmic negativity, which characterizes the entanglement between the two systems, is found to increase from 0.27 to 0.32 with the help of the atoms. Surprisingly, such macroscopic entanglement persists for environment temperatures of about 25 K in this system.

Stationary entanglement between two movable mirrors in a classically driven Fabry–Perot cavity

David Vitali, Stefano Mancini, Paolo Tombesi

We consider a Fabry–Perot cavity made by two moving mirrors and driven by an intense classical laser field. We show that stationary entanglement between two vibrational modes of the mirrors, with an effective mass of the order of micrograms, can be generated by means of radiation pressure. The resulting entanglement is however quite fragile with respect to temperature.

Optomechanical Entanglement between a Movable Mirror and a Cavity Field

David Vitali, Sylvain Gigan, Aires Ferreira +6 more

We show how stationary entanglement between an optical cavity field mode and a macroscopic vibrating mirror can be generated by means of radiation pressure. We also show how the generated optomechanical entanglement can be quantified, and we suggest an experimental readout scheme to fully characterize the entangled state. Surprisingly, such optomechanical entanglement is shown to persist for environment temperatures above 20 K using state-of-the-art experimental parameters.

Entangling movable mirrors in a double-cavity system

M. Pinard, Aurélien Dantan, D Vitali +3 more

We propose a double-cavity set-up capable of generating a stationary entangled state of two movable mirrors at cryogenic temperatures. The scheme is based on the optimal transfer of squeezing of input optical fields to mechanical vibrational modes of the mirrors, realized by the radiation pressure of the intracavity light. We show that the presence of macroscopic entanglement can be demonstrated by an appropriate readout of the output light of the two cavities.

Entanglement between movable mirror and cavity field with atomic medium

Caiyu Zhang

A scheme to generate entanglement in a cavity optomechanical system filled with atomic medium was proposed. If the coupling between the cavity field and atom medium is suitable, the entanglement is obtained between the cavity and movable mirror, between the mirror and atom,as well as between the cavity mode and atom.Furthermore, numerical solutions are given by employing logarithmic negativity to quantify the entanglement including the cavity losses.

Entanglement of movable mirror and cavity field enhanced by an optical parametric amplifier

Caiyun Zhang, Hu Li, Guixia Pan +1 more

A scheme to generate entanglement in a cavity optomechanical system filled with an optical parametric amplifier is proposed. With the help of the optical parametric amplifier, the stationary macroscopic entanglement between the movable mirror and the cavity field can be notably enhanced, and the entanglement increases when the parametric gain increases. Moreover, for a given parametric gain, the degree of entanglement of the cavity optomechanical system increases with increasing input laser power.

Enhanced Entanglement in Hybrid Cavity Mediated by a Two-way Coupled Quantum Dot

Ming-Cui Li, Aixi Chen

Abstract We investigate theoretically the entanglement in a hybrid Fabry-Perot cavity system. A membrane in the cavity acts as a mechanical resonator, and a two-level quantum dot is coupled to both the cavity mode and the mechanical resonator. The entanglements between the cavity field and the mechanical resonator, between the mechanical resonator and the quantum dot, as well as between the cavity field and the quantum dot are observed. The logarithmic negativities in the first two subsystems are much larger than those in the system without two-way coupled quantum dot, and the entanglements are robust against the thermal temperature (entanglements still exist in tens of Kelvin). We also find that without direct coupling between the cavity field and the mechanical resonator, one can till observe effective entanglement between them in our system. Our work is helpful and may have potential applications in the research of multipartite entanglement in physical system.
