Abstract

Analyzed the security of a recently proposed ID-based authenticated key exchange protocol without random oracles,it was shown that the protocol suffer from impersonation attacks due to redundancy of the exchange messages. To overcome this problem, presented an improved version of the protocol and gave security analyses in the standard model. Results show that it satisfies all the security requirements of an ID-based authenticated key exchange protocol.

Cryptanalysis and Improvement on An ID-Based Key Issuing Protocol

In this paper we analyze an ID-based key issuing protocol due to Gangishetti et al., designed for eliminating the need of secure channel between PKG and users and avoiding the key escrow problem. Their protocol consists of five sub-protocols, namely system setup, system public key setup, key issuing, key securing and key retrieving. We show that both the key issuing and the key securing sub-protocols suffer from impersonation attacks. Further, we present an improved key issuing protocol which is proved to be secure against adaptive chosen message attack in the random oracle model under the CDH assumption

Analysis and improvement of an ID-based authenticated key agreement protocol

Xiao Guo-zhen

The security of a recently proposed ID-based authenticated key agreement protocol was analyzed. Although it is provably secure in the standard model, a malicious PKG (private key generator) can still obtain all of the agreed ses-sion keys, that is, it doesn’t provide PKG-forward secrecy in escrowless mode. To satisfy the security requirement in es-crowless mode, an improved version of the protocol was presented and it was proved to be a secure authenticated key agreement in the standard model. Results show that it provides perfect forward secrecy and PKG-forward secrecy.

A Secure ID-Based Authenticated Group Key Exchange Protocol Resistant to Insider Attacks.

Tsu‐Yang Wu, Yuh‐Min Tseng, Ching-Wen Yu

Recently, several identity (ID)-based authenticated group key exchange (IDAGKE) protocols from bilinear pairings were proposed. However, they all suffered from different types of insider (participants) colluding attacks. In this paper, we present a new IDAGKE protocol from bilinear pairings. In the random oracle model and under some security assumptions, we demonstrate that the proposed protocol is a provably secure IDAGKE protocol providing forward secrecy. Meanwhile, it is secure against insider attacks.

A New Efficient ID-Based Authenticated Key Agreement Protocol.

Quan Yuan, Songping Li

Recently Eun-Kyung Ryu, Eun-Jun Yoon, and Kee-Young Yoo proposed an efficient ID-based authenticated key agreement with paring[11]. They argued that it is secure and efficient. In this paper, we show this protocol is doesn’t satisfy the Key-Compromise Impersonate property and it is not secure against key reveal attack. Then we propose our protocol from this protocol and shim’s protocol[15], its security and efficiency was analyzed.

The security attributes of three provable secure ID-based authenticated key agreement protocols are analyzed, and an enhanced ID-based authenticated key agreement protocol is presented based on the previous work. The new scheme achieves most of the known security attributes, such as known-key secrecy,key-compromise impersonation resilience, unknown key-share resilience,no-key control and message independence, especially the PKG-forward secrecy and known session-specific temporary information secrecy attributes, meanwhile keeping with the nice efficiency.

Security weaknesses of two-party ID-based authenticated key agreement protocols

Jianzhong Zhang, Zuoshun Wu

We analyse the existing ID-based authenticated key agreement protocols, and find out that several proposed protocols of this type do not satisfy related security attributes. This paper reviews Wang's, He's and Guo's protocols sequentially, and shows key compromise impersonation attack on Wang's scheme, ephemeral secrets reveal attack on He's scheme, key reveal attack and ephemeral secrets reveal attack on Guo's scheme, respectively, Finally, this paper proposes some improving suggestions on corresponding weaknesses of these protocols.
