Abstract

Recently Eun-Kyung Ryu, Eun-Jun Yoon, and Kee-Young Yoo proposed an efficient ID-based authenticated key agreement with paring[11]. They argued that it is secure and efficient. In this paper, we show this protocol is doesn’t satisfy the Key-Compromise Impersonate property and it is not secure against key reveal attack. Then we propose our protocol from this protocol and shim’s protocol[15], its security and efficiency was analyzed.

Security Proof for the Improved Ryu-Yoon-Yoo Identity-Based Key Agreement Protocol.

Abstract. Key agreement protocols are essential for secure communications in open and distributed environments. The protocol design is, however, extremely error-prone as evidenced by the iterative process of fixing discovered attacks on published protocols. We revisit an efficient identity-based (ID-based) key agreement protocol due to Ryu, Yoon and Yoo. The protocol is highly efficient and suitable for real-world applications despite offering no resilience against key-compromise impersonation (K-CI). We then show that the protocol is, in fact, insecure against reflection attacks. A slight modification to the protocol is proposed, which results in significant benefits for the security of the protocol without compromising on its efficiency. Finally, we prove the improved protocol secure in a widely accepted model.

Cryptanalysis of ID-based Authenticated Key Agreement Protocol

Renwang Su

Authenticated key agreement is an important original language of cryptology. This paper analyzes an ID-based authenticated key agreement protocol, carries a proof of security in the Bellare-Rogaway-93 model, pointes out the protocol is insecure if the adversary is allowed to send a Reveal query.Researches show that the protocol can not resist the key compromise impersonation attack.

Provably secure identity-based authenticated key agreement protocol and its application

Shuai Shao, Bin Tian, Xin Wang +1 more

We point out the RYY+ identity-based (ID-based) key agreement protocol is vulnerable to Key-compromise impersonation (KCI) attack and Intermediate results leakage (IRL) attack. Then we give the improved protocol which provides KCI and IRL resistance. The novel protocol is provably secure under the gap Bilinear Diffie-Hellman assumption in the seCK model, which enhances the adversary's queries comparing with previous ID based AKE models. The proposed scheme also has an advantage over most previous schemes on security and efficiency.

The security attributes of three provable secure ID-based authenticated key agreement protocols are analyzed, and an enhanced ID-based authenticated key agreement protocol is presented based on the previous work. The new scheme achieves most of the known security attributes, such as known-key secrecy,key-compromise impersonation resilience, unknown key-share resilience,no-key control and message independence, especially the PKG-forward secrecy and known session-specific temporary information secrecy attributes, meanwhile keeping with the nice efficiency.

ID-Based Authenticated Dynamic Group Key Agreement

王莺洁, 潘军, 诸鸿文

Two ID-based authenticated group key agreement schemes, proposed by Choi et al and Du et al, are insecure against an impersonation attack and they only discussed the static group. This paper proposed a variant of BD protocol, which is fully authenticated by a proven-secure ID-based signature scheme. The protocol can resist the impersonation attack, and other security attributes are also satisfied. Compared with Choi et al and Du et al schemes, the proposed one is more efficient and applicable for dynamic groups.

Analysis and improvement of an ID-based authenticated key agreement protocol

Xiao Guo-zhen

The security of a recently proposed ID-based authenticated key agreement protocol was analyzed. Although it is provably secure in the standard model, a malicious PKG (private key generator) can still obtain all of the agreed ses-sion keys, that is, it doesn’t provide PKG-forward secrecy in escrowless mode. To satisfy the security requirement in es-crowless mode, an improved version of the protocol was presented and it was proved to be a secure authenticated key agreement in the standard model. Results show that it provides perfect forward secrecy and PKG-forward secrecy.
