Abstract

For the Shapiro-Wagner-Hradil phase detection description the canonical commutation relation between phase angle ψ and two-mode number-difference operator D = a † a - b † b is constructed. Departing from [ ψ , D ] = - i , the phase angle Hermitian operator is derived in the newly obtained representation ⟨ ξ |, where| ξ ⟩ is the common eigenket of a + b † and b + a † .

Hermitian Operators Conjugate to Two-Mode Number-Difference Operator Studied in Entangled State Representation

Xuefen Xu

In similar to the derivation of phase angle operator conjugate to the number operator by Arroyo Carrasco–Moya Cessay we deduce the Hermitian phase operators that are conjugate to the two-mode number-difference operator and the three-mode number combination operator. It is shown that these operators are on the same footing in the entangled state representation as the one of Turski in the coherent state representation.

A Hermitian operator conjugate to the number operator

M. L. Arroyo Carrasco, H. M. Moya-Cessa

It is shown that, departing from Dirac's intensity - phase commutator, a Hermitian operator can be found, conjugate to the number operator, N. We also show that this operator is equivalent to that given by Turski.

Normally ordered forms of Shapiro-Wagner phase operators and their application

Xian-Ting Liang

Based on the quantum mechanical representation |ξ⟩ = exp[-½|ξ| + ξ a 1 + + ξ* a 2 + - a 1 + a 2 + ] |00⟩ constructed by Fan Hong-yi and with the help of the technique of integration within an ordered product of operators, we derive the normally ordered expressions of the Shapiro-Wagner (SW) phase operators. They are in terms of the Bessel functions. As their application we discuss the minimal uncertain relation regarding the two-mode phase and number-difference operators.

Minimum Uncertainty States for Number-Difference-Phase Uncertainty Relation in NFM Operational Phase Description

Fan Hong‐Yi, Zhihu Sun

For the Noh, Fougères and Mandel (NFM) operational quantum phase description, which is based on an eight-port homodyne-detection, we derive the minimum uncertainty states for the number-difference-phase uncertainty relation. The derivation makes full use of the newly constructed | q , r ⟩ representation which is the common eigenvector of the two-mode photon number-difference a † a - b † b and ( a + b † )( a † + b ).

Correlative amplitude–operational phase entanglement embodied by the EPR-pair eigenstate |η⟩

Hong-Yi Fan

After a penetrating analysis of the known number–phase commutative relations we find that the common eigenvector |η⟩ of two particles' relative coordinate and total momentum also embodies the entanglement with respect to the correlative amplitude–operational phase. Based on the fact that the number-difference operator is the canonical conjugate to the Noh–Fougères–Mandel operational phase operator, the corresponding entanglement is also briefly discussed.
