Abstract

Based on the quantum mechanical representation |ξ⟩ = exp[-½|ξ| + ξ a 1 + + ξ* a 2 + - a 1 + a 2 + ] |00⟩ constructed by Fan Hong-yi and with the help of the technique of integration within an ordered product of operators, we derive the normally ordered expressions of the Shapiro-Wagner (SW) phase operators. They are in terms of the Bessel functions. As their application we discuss the minimal uncertain relation regarding the two-mode phase and number-difference operators.

New approach for calculating the normally ordered form of squeeze operators

Fan Hong‐Yi, Haider R. Zaidi, John R. Klauder

A new method for directly obtaining the normally ordered form of single- and two-mode squeeze operators is presented. This method is based on the technique of ``integration within an ordered product.'' The operator expressions are derived using the coherent-state representation as well as the coordinate and the momentum representations. The method is very simple, and the approach has an intuitive basis that makes the squeezing property manifest at the outset.

A Hermitian Opetator Conjugate to Two-Mode Number-Difference Operator

Hong-Yi Fan, Yihua Wang

For the Shapiro-Wagner-Hradil phase detection description the canonical commutation relation between phase angle ψ and two-mode number-difference operator D = a † a - b † b is constructed. Departing from [ ψ , D ] = - i , the phase angle Hermitian operator is derived in the newly obtained representation ⟨ ξ |, where| ξ ⟩ is the common eigenket of a + b † and b + a † .

General Formalism for Mapping of Two-Mode Classical Canonical Transformations to Quantum Unitary operators

Hong-Yi Fan

Two types of canonical transformations in two-mode classical phase space are mapped into the quantum mechanical Hilbert space to produce some new normally ordered unitary operators. These operators are evaluated in the coordinate (momentum) representations using the "integration within ordered product" technique, and the mapping is manifestly apparent in the derivation. New generalized coherent states are constructed in terms of these operators, and the uncertainty relations for these states are analysed.

Normally Ordered Operator Fredholm Equation and Its Applications in Quantum Mechanics

Fan Hong‐Yi, Fan Yue

By virtue of the technique of integration within an ordered product of operators we construct the normally ordered operator fiedholm equation. We use it to derive some new operator formulas. For Weyl correspondence, operator fiedholm equation can also be constructed. Some applications of the operator Fkedholm equation are given.

Normally Ordered and Antinormally Ordered Expansions of Some Exponential Operators in Hilbert Space

Fan Hong-Yi

In this paper, the completeness relations of the fundamental representations in quantum mechanics, together with the "integration within orderd product" technique are exploited to derive normally ordered and antinormally ordered expansions of some exponential operators in Hilbert space. Applications of the normally ordered exponential operators to evaluating Feynman matrix element in coherent state representation are given, which seems to be a new approach.

MINIMUM UNCERTAINTY RELATION OBEYED BY SWH PHASE OPERATOR IN TWO-MODE COHERENT STATE

Fan Hong‐Yi, SUN ZHIHU

We study the minimum uncertainty relation obeyed by the phase operator [Formula: see text] in two-mode coherent state. The operator is suitable for Shapiro–Wagner heterodyne phase measurement scheme. It is due to the |ξ> representation (see Eq. (4)) that the difficulty brought by nonlinear square root operation in [Formula: see text] can be avoided in calculating miscellaneous expectation values. Just as the single-mode coherent state | z1> makes uncertainty relation, satisfied by S–G phase operator, minimum for large |z1|2, we show that |z1,z2> makes uncertainty relation obeyed by [Formula: see text] minimum when |z1|=|z2| is large enough. Some figures are plotted to support our conclusion.
