Nonlocality Sudden Birth and Transfer in System and Environment

Abstract

Dynamics of the nonlocality measured by the violation of Svetlichny's Bell-type inequality is investigated in the non-Markovian model. The phenomenon of nonlocality sudden birth for the atoms and the reservoirs is obtained. The evolution of the nonlocality among the atoms or the reservoirs depends on the choice of the atom detuning from the cavity pseudomode, the cavity pseudomode decay and the rotation angles. For the small pseudomode decay in the near-resonance regime, the initial atomic nonlocality is completely transferred to the reservoirs ultimately.

Discontinuity of the Measurement-Induced Nonlocality Evolution

Guofu Xu, D. M. Tong

A novel resource, i.e. measurement-induced nonlocality, was proposed by Luo and Fu [ Phys. Rev. Lett. 106 (2011) 120401 ]. It can directly reflect the usefulness of quantum nonlocality in quantum protocols. We investigate the dynamics of measurement-induced nonlocality by exactly solving a model which consists of two independent atoms each subject to a zero-temperature muti-mode cavity. We find that the dynamics of measurement-induced nonlocality is discontinuity under some special conditions. The reason for this phenomenon is the constraint of the von Neumann measurements which do not disturb the reduced density operator. We also find the sudden death phenomenon and the sudden birth phenomenon.

Bell-Nonlocality Dynamics of Three Remote Atoms in Tavis—Cummings and Jaynes—Cummings Models

Xiu-Lan Zhen, Qing Yang, Ming Yang +1 more

We study the Bell-nonlocality dynamics of three remote atoms, two of which are trapped in one single-mode cavity and the third atom is trapped in another remote single-mode cavity. The interactions between the atoms and the cavity modes are studied via Tavis Cummings and Jaynes Cummings models. Here, the two single-mode cavities are introduced to simulate two different enviroments of the three atoms. The tripartite nonlocal correlations are studied in terms of the Svetlichny inequality and the WWZB inequality, respectively. The results show that the tripartite Bell-nonlocality sudden death will occur for the W state and GHZ state initial conditions. The detailed results demonstrate that the tripartite nonlocality of GHZ state is more robust than that of W state when suffering from the effect of environments.

Nonlocality dynamics for an eight-qubit model in cavity QEDs

Ihab H. Naeim, Josep Amengual i Batle, S. Abdalla +1 more

We study the nonlocality dynamics for an eight-qubit model in cavity QED, where four atoms are confined in four different cavities, all of them initially prepared in the maximally correlated state of four qubits, which corresponds to the atomic degrees of freedom. The nonlocality evolution for the latter states will show that the corresponding maximal violation of a multipartite Bell inequality will experience revivals at precise times, defining, in analogy with entanglement, nonlocality sudden deaths, as well as nonlocality sudden rebirths. The present contribution paves the way to describe, by employing the nonlocality multipartite correlation measure, collective complex behavior displayed by slightly interacting cavity QED arrays.

Sudden violation of the CHSH inequality in a two-qubit system

Laura Mazzola

I study the dynamics of the violation of the CHSH inequality for two qubits interacting with a common zero-temperature non-Markovian environment. I demonstrate sudden violation of the inequality for two qubits initially prepared in a factorized state. Due to the strong coupling between the qubits and the reservoir, the dynamics is characterized by numerous sharp revivals. Furthermore I focus on a more realistic physical system in which the spontaneous emission for the qubits is taken into account. When including spontaneous emission even for small decay parameters, revivals in the violation are heavily damped out. If the decay rates exceed a certain threshold, the inequality turns out to be always satisfied.

Sudden change of genuine multipartite entanglement in non-Markovian dynamics

Mazhar Ali

We investigate entanglement dynamics of bipartite as well multipartite systems beyond Markov approximation. We study two pairs of cavity–reservoir systems, modeled as four qubits and track the change of entanglement among cavity–cavity qubits, reservoir–reservoir qubits, and also for genuine entanglement of all four qubits. For cavity–cavity qubits, we find that non-Markovianity prolongs the life of entanglement besides collapse/revival phenomenon. For reservoir–reservoir qubits, entanglement sudden birth is delayed accordingly along with oscillations. For all four qubits, with a specific initial state, we find that genuine entanglement develops gradually, reaches to a maximum constant value and then freezes at this value for some time before decaying. This sudden change in dynamics of genuine entanglement occurs for a time window where neither cavities nor reservoirs are entangled. In contrast to Markov process, sudden change phenomenon may be recurrent in non-Markovian regime.

Dynamics of Quantum Entanglement in Reservoir with Memory Effects

Xiang Hao, Sha Jin-Qiao, Jian Colin Sun +1 more

The non-Markovian dynamics of quantum entanglement is studied by the Shabani—Lidar master equation when one of entangled quantum systems is coupled to a local reservoir with memory effects. The completely positive reduced dynamical map can be constructed in the Kraus representation. Quantum entanglement decays more slowly in the non-Markovian environment. The decoherence time for quantum entanglement can be markedly increased with the change of the memory kernel. It is found out that the entanglement sudden death between quantum systems and entanglement sudden birth between the system and reservoir occur at different instants.
