Abstract

By considering two kinds of non-Markovian (NM) environments, the dynamical behavior of quantum steering, Bell nonlocality and coherence of a system of two atoms initially immersed in a vacuum has been studied. In this context, the cases of a cavity little off-resonance with the atomic transition frequency and non-perfect photonic band-gap (NPPBG) has been considered. The control and preservation of the quantumness measures is discussed in terms of the physical parameters. Furthermore, the situations for which the atoms state is steerable with the presence of Bell nonlocality and coherence has been illustrated. Finally, the monotonic dependence among the quantumness measures is displayed with respect to the model parameters.

Einstein–Podolsky–Rosen steering and coherence in structured environments

K. Berrada, Hichem Eleuch

Abstract We examine the quantum steering and coherence for two qubits that are immersed in an isotropic (I) and anisotropic (A) photonic band-gab (PBG) crystal. We show how the steerability and coherence of the qubits’ state depends on the essential parameters of the model and initial state setting of the qubits. We find that the prevention of the amount of quantum steering and coherence can be achieved in the presence of PBG materials by a considerable choice of the system parameters. Furthermore, we show that the quantum steering and coherence can resist the degradation during the dynamics in IPBG more than in APBG according to the same physical conditions. Finally, we illustrate the relationship between the quantum steering and coherence with respect to the system parameters under the decoherence effect. These obtained results reveal that quantum systems in PBG materials are very useful to implement diverse applications of quantum technology with optimal performance.

Robust control and preservation of quantum steering, nonlocality, and coherence in open atomic systems

K. Berrada, Abdelaziz Sabik

Abstract We investigate the robustness of Einstein–Podolsky–Rosen (EPR) steering, nonlocality, and quantum coherence in a bipartite atomic system coupled to cavity fields under the influence of decoherence. The system consists of two non-interacting atoms, where each atom is confined within a cavity that interacts with another cavity field, which plays a crucial role in governing the dynamical evolution of two atoms. Through a combination of analytical and numerical investigations, we demonstrate that quantum steering, Bell nonlocality, and coherence can be not only preserved but also enhanced by appropriately tuning the cavity–cavity interaction strength, effectively mitigating environmental decoherence and extending the coherence lifetime of the system. Our results reveal that, under optimal conditions, steering, nonlocality, and coherence remain resilient against decoherence over extended timescales. These findings offer valuable insights into the controlled manipulation of quantum resources in open quantum systems and have significant implications for quantum information processing and secure communication technologies.

Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen Steering and Nonlocality in Open Quantum Systems

Abdelaziz Sabik

We investigate the dynamical behavior of quantum steering (QS), Bell nonlocality, and entanglement in open quantum systems. We focus on a two-qubit system evolving within the framework of Kossakowski-type quantum dynamical semigroups. Our findings reveal that the measures of quantumness for the asymptotic states rely on the primary parameter of the quantum model. Furthermore, control over these measures can be achieved through a careful selection of these parameters. Our analysis encompasses various cases, including Bell states, Werner states, and Horodecki states, demonstrating that the asymptotic states can exhibit steering, entanglement, and Bell nonlocality. Additionally, we find that these three quantum measures of correlations can withstand the influence of the environment, maintaining their properties even over extended periods.

Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen Steering for Mixed Entangled Coherent States

S. Abdel‐Khalek, K. Berrada, Mariam Algarni +1 more

By using the Born Markovian master equation, we study the relationship among the Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen (EPR) steering, Bell nonlocality, and quantum entanglement of entangled coherent states (ECSs) under decoherence. We illustrate the dynamical behavior of the three types of correlations for various optical field strength regimes. In general, we find that correlation measurements begin at their maximum and decline over time. We find that quantum steering and nonlocality behave similarly in terms of photon number during dynamics. Furthermore, we discover that ECSs with steerability can violate the Bell inequality, and that not every ECS with Bell nonlocality is steerable. In the current work, without the memory stored in the environment, some of the initial states with maximal values of quantum steering, Bell nonlocality, and entanglement can provide a delayed loss of that value during temporal evolution, which is of interest to the current study.

Entropy squeezing and coherence for a non-Markovian dissipative qubit system

K. Berrada

We examine the impact of the non-Markovian environment on the dynamical behavior of the quantum coherence and entropy squeezing considering a two-level atomic system (qubit) immersed in a reservoir with zero-temperature for two types of non-Markovian environments. We consider a cavity little off-resonance with the transition frequency of the qubit and the case of a non-perfect photonic band gap (PBG). We show that the amount of coherence is dependent on the structure of the environment and influenced through the memory effects. We obtain that the delay and revival of the coherence loss might take place by controlling the detuning of the cavity-qubit system. Whereas, a partial coherence trapping occurs in non-ideal PBG and the decrease of the gap width will destroy the coherence. On the other hand, we show the situation for which the squeezing is occurring and enhanced with respect to the main parameters for the system. Finally, we display the monotonic dependence of the quantum coherence and squeezing on the main model parameters.

Quantum Discord Dynamics in Two Different Non-Markovian Reservoirs

Bang-Fu Ding, Xiao-Yun Wang, Jing-Feng Liu +2 more

The quantum discord dynamics of two non-coupled two-level atoms independently interacting with their reservoir is studied under two kinds of non-Markovian conditions, namely, an off-resonant case with atomic transition frequency and a photonic band gap. In the first case, the phenomenon of the quantum discord loss and the oscillatory behavior of the quantum discord can occur by changing the detuning quantity and reducing the spectral coupling width for any initial Bell state. Under the second condition, the trapping phenomenon of the quantum discord can be presented by adjusting the width of gap, that is, the quantum discord of two atoms keep a nonzero constant for a long time.
