Abstract

A simple scheme is proposed to generate a N-qubit W state of spatiall separated single molecule magnets (SMM) in a cavity-fiber-cavity system. In the present scheme, the framework consisting of entangled qubits can be expediently designed according to our needs. By quantitatively discussing the case of N=4, we show that the effects of SMM's spontaneous decay and photon leakage out of fiber can be suppressed in our scheme due to the presence of virtual excited processes in SMM and fiber modes. Moreover, we also show that the present scheme is robust with respect to some deviations of experimental parameters, and as a result, the present investigation provides a research clue for realizing multi-partite entanglement between distant SMMs solid-state nanostructures, which may result in a substantial impact on the progress of multi-node quantum information network.

Deterministic Generation of Quantum State Transfer Between Spatially Separated Single Molecule Magnets

Peijun Song, Xin‐You Lü, Pei Huang +2 more

We propose a new scheme for realizing deterministic quantum state transfer (QST) between two spatially separated single molecule magnets (SMMs) with the framework of cavity quantum electrodynamics (QED). In the present scheme, two SMMs are trapped in two spatially separated optical cavities coupled by an optical fiber. Through strictly numerically simulating, we demonstrate that our scheme is robust with respect to the SMMs' spontaneous decay and fiber loss under the conditions of dispersive SMMs-field interaction and strong coupling of cavity fiber. In addition, we also discuss the influence of photon leakage out of cavities and show that our proposal is good enough to demonstrate the generation of QST with high fidelity utilizing the current experimental technology. The present investigation provides research opportunities for realizing QST between solid-state qubits and may result in a substantial impact on the progress of solid-state-based quantum communications network.

Generation of a multi-qubit W entangled state through spatially separated semiconductor quantum-dot-molecules in cavity-quantum electrodynamics arrays

Siping Liu, Rong Yu, Jiahua Li +1 more

Generating entangled states attract tremendous interest as the most vivid manifestation of nonlocality of quantum mechanics and also for emerging applications in quantum information processing (QIP). Here, we propose theoretically a scheme for the deterministic generation of a three-qubit W sate with three semiconductor quantum-dot-molecules (QDMs) trapped in spatially separated cavities connected by optical fibers. The proposed scheme takes full advantage of the voltage-controlled tunnelling effects in QDMs, which induces the quantum coherence and further controls the generation of the W entangled state. The influences of the system parameters and various decoherence processes including spontaneous decay and photon leakage on the fidelity of the W state are discussed in details. Numerical results indicate that our scheme is not only robust against these decoherence factors but also insensitive to the deviation of the system parameters from the ideal conditions. Furthermore, the present scheme can be directly extended to realize an N-qubit W state. Also, this scheme can be generically transferred to other physical systems, including circuit quantum electrodynamics and photonic crystal cavities. The results obtained here may be useful in real experiments for realizing QIP in a solid-state platform.

Adiabatic passage scheme for entanglement between two distant microwave cavities interacting with single-molecule magnets

Xin‐You Lü, Lili Zheng, Pei Huang +2 more

We propose a scheme for deterministically generating entanglement between two distant microwave cavities that interact with two single-molecule magnets (SMMs) and are connected by an optical fiber. In our scheme, the spontaneous decay of SMMs and photons damping in the fiber are efficiently suppressed via employing the stimulated Raman adiabatic passage (STIRAP). To check the experimental feasibility of our scheme, we numerically simulated the effects of some deviations of experimental parameters, and the numerical simulation shows that our scheme is robust with respect to those experimental parameters. We also discuss the effects of cavity damping, and as a result our proposal is good enough to demonstrate the generation of entanglement of microwave cavities within current experimental technology.

Generation of N-atom W-class states in spatially separated cavities

Mei Lu, Yan Xia, Jie Song +1 more

We propose a feasible and efficient scheme to generate N-atom W-class states in spatially separated cavities without using any classical driving pulses. We adopt the model in which the couplings between different atoms are mediated only by virtual excitations of the cavity and fiber fields, so the scheme is insensitive to the cavity decay and fiber photon leakage. We carry out both theoretical investigation in a decoherence-free subspace and numerical calculation accounting for decoherence due to the atomic spontaneous emission as well as the decay of cavity and fiber modes. The theoretical and numerical results agree in the large atom-cavity detuning regime. Our scheme proves to be useful in scalable distributed quantum networks.

Single molecular magnets as a source of continuous-variable entanglement

Xin‐You Lü, Ji-Bing Liu, Yü Tian +2 more

We study the generation and evolution of continuous-variable entanglement in a single-molecular-magnets (SMM) system, where the quantum coherence effect is induced by two classical electromagnetic fields (pump and control fields). Our numerical results show that the entanglement of cavity fields can be controlled efficiently by tuning the intensity and frequency detuning of control field, and the macroscopic entangled light with long entanglement time can be realized in this SMM system, over a wide range of initial states of the cavity field. This investigation can be used for achieving the macroscopic entangled light in a solid-state medium, which is much more practical than that in an atomic or molecular medium because of its flexible design.

N -Qubit W State of Spatially Separated Atoms via Fractional Adiabatic Passage

Anshou Zheng, Jibing Liu, Hongyun Chen

An alternative scheme is presented to realize an N-qubit W state with distant atoms trapped in spatially separated optical cavities coupled by optical fibers via a fractional adiabatic passage. The present scheme is tolerant to device parameter nonuniformity and does not need to accurately control the experimental time by employing the fractional stimulated Raman adiabatic passage. In addition, the excited states of atoms are adiabatically eliminated and no additional qubit is required. Cavity decay, fiber losses and atomic spontaneous emission can all be greatly suppressed in the present scheme.
