Abstract

Generating entangled states attract tremendous interest as the most vivid manifestation of nonlocality of quantum mechanics and also for emerging applications in quantum information processing (QIP). Here, we propose theoretically a scheme for the deterministic generation of a three-qubit W sate with three semiconductor quantum-dot-molecules (QDMs) trapped in spatially separated cavities connected by optical fibers. The proposed scheme takes full advantage of the voltage-controlled tunnelling effects in QDMs, which induces the quantum coherence and further controls the generation of the W entangled state. The influences of the system parameters and various decoherence processes including spontaneous decay and photon leakage on the fidelity of the W state are discussed in details. Numerical results indicate that our scheme is not only robust against these decoherence factors but also insensitive to the deviation of the system parameters from the ideal conditions. Furthermore, the present scheme can be directly extended to realize an N-qubit W state. Also, this scheme can be generically transferred to other physical systems, including circuit quantum electrodynamics and photonic crystal cavities. The results obtained here may be useful in real experiments for realizing QIP in a solid-state platform.

Voltage-controlled multipartite entanglement with distant quantum dot molecules via adiabatic-varying tunnel coupling

Anshou Zheng, Yongjin Cheng, Ji-Bing Liu

An alternative voltage-controlled scheme is proposed for the generation of an N-qubit W state with distant self-assembled semiconductor quantum dot molecules (QDMs) via adiabatic-varying tunnel coupling. The N semiconductor QDMs are trapped in N spatially separated cavities coupled with N−1 fibers. The present scheme takes full advantage of adiabatic passage and the exceptional features of semiconductor QDMs. The decoherence caused by the excited state spontaneous emission and the fiber loss was efficiently suppressed. In addition, our calculations show that the present scheme is robust against the deviation of the parameters.

Voltage-controlled entanglement and quantum-information transfer between spatially separated quantum-dot molecules

We propose two schemes for generating entanglement and quantum-state transfer (QST) between two spatially separated semiconductor quantum dot molecules (QDMs) based on voltage-controlled tunneling effects. In the present schemes, two QDMs are trapped in two spatially separated cavities connected by a fiber. By numerically simulating the evolution of the system, we show that the generation of entanglement and QST can be controlled by an external gate voltage in our schemes. Moreover, proposed schemes are robust against the noise of system parameters.

Deterministic Generation of Quantum State Transfer Between Spatially Separated Single Molecule Magnets

We propose a new scheme for realizing deterministic quantum state transfer (QST) between two spatially separated single molecule magnets (SMMs) with the framework of cavity quantum electrodynamics (QED). In the present scheme, two SMMs are trapped in two spatially separated optical cavities coupled by an optical fiber. Through strictly numerically simulating, we demonstrate that our scheme is robust with respect to the SMMs' spontaneous decay and fiber loss under the conditions of dispersive SMMs-field interaction and strong coupling of cavity fiber. In addition, we also discuss the influence of photon leakage out of cavities and show that our proposal is good enough to demonstrate the generation of QST with high fidelity utilizing the current experimental technology. The present investigation provides research opportunities for realizing QST between solid-state qubits and may result in a substantial impact on the progress of solid-state-based quantum communications network.

Voltage-controlled quantum dynamics of two quantum-dot molecules (QDMs) embedded in two separated photonic crystal cavities are theoretically investigated. We show numerically that generation of entangled states and population transfer between the two QDMs can be realized with the same coupling parameters. The effects of parameters deviation and dissipations on generation entangled states and populations transfer are also discussed. The results may be used for realization of new-type of solid state quantum devices and integrated electro-optical devices.

Achieving three-dimensional entanglement between two spatially separated atoms by using the quantum Zeno effect

Siping Liu, Jiahua Li, Rong Yu +1 more

Based on the quantum Zeno effect [B. Misra and E. C. G. Sudarshan, J. Math. Phys. 18, 756 (1977)], we propose a scheme to achieve three-dimensional (3D) entanglement between two distant five-level atoms. In our scheme, the two atoms are trapped individually in two spatially-separated double-mode cavities connected by an optical fiber. It is found that the effective quantum Zeno dynamics of the composite cavity-fiber-cavity coupled system gives rise to the deterministic creation of the 3D entangled state with high fidelity. Moreover, only one step operation is required to complete the generation of the 3D entangled state. The numerical simulations clearly show that the proposed scheme is robust against the deviation of the system parameters and insensitive to various decoherence factors, including atomic spontaneous emissions, cavity decays and fiber photon leakages. We justify our scheme by considering the experimental feasibility within the currently available technology.

N-qubitW state of spatially separated single molecule magnets

Xin‐You Lü, Peijun Song, Ji-Bing Liu +1 more

A simple scheme is proposed to generate a N-qubit W state of spatiall separated single molecule magnets (SMM) in a cavity-fiber-cavity system. In the present scheme, the framework consisting of entangled qubits can be expediently designed according to our needs. By quantitatively discussing the case of N=4, we show that the effects of SMM's spontaneous decay and photon leakage out of fiber can be suppressed in our scheme due to the presence of virtual excited processes in SMM and fiber modes. Moreover, we also show that the present scheme is robust with respect to some deviations of experimental parameters, and as a result, the present investigation provides a research clue for realizing multi-partite entanglement between distant SMMs solid-state nanostructures, which may result in a substantial impact on the progress of multi-node quantum information network.
