Quantum correlations in cavity QED networks

Miguel Orszag, Nellu Ciobanu, Raúl Coto +1 more

We present a review of the dynamical features such as generation, propagation, distribution, sudden transition and freezing of the various quantum correlation measures, as Concurrence, Entanglement of Formation, Quantum Discord, as well their geometrical measure counterparts within the models of Cavity Quantum Electrodynamics Networks. Dissipation and thermal effects are discussed both in the generation of quantum correlations as well as their effect on the sudden changes and freezing of the classical and quantum correlations in a cavity quantum electrodynamical network. For certain initial conditions, double transitions in the Bures geometrical discord are found. One of these transitions tends to disappear at a critical temperature.

Propagation and distribution of quantum correlations in a cavity QED network

Raúl Coto, Miguel Orszag

We study the propagation and distribution of quantum correlations through two chains of atoms inside cavities joined by optical fibres. This system is interesting because it can be used as a channel for quantum communication or as a network for quantum computation. In order to quantify those correlations, we used two different measurements: entanglement and quantum discord. We also use tangle for multipartite entanglement. We consider an effective Hamiltonian for the system and cavity losses, in the dressed atom picture, using the generalized master equation. We found a case where the quantum discord and the classical correlation are almost constant, and we also found multipartite entanglement, starting with only one excitation per chain. Finally, we propose a way to select the initial condition so that we can optimize the results for different purposes.

Exploring Quantum Correlations from Discord to Entanglement

Ekaterina V. Moreva, Marco Gramegna, Mikhail A. Yurischev

Quantum correlations represent a fundamental tool for studies ranging from basic science to quantum technologies. Different non-classical correlations have been identified and studied, as entanglement and discord. In this Paper we explore experimentally the rich geometry of polarization Bell-diagonal states. By taking advantage of the statistical method of generation, the values of entanglement and discord along different trajectories in the space of the parameters of density matrix have been measured. The effects of sudden death of entanglement and complete "freeze" of discord were investigated in order to detect the domains with different domination of one type of quantum correlation against to other. A geometric interpretation for each considered phenomena is addressed. The observed good agreement between experiment and theory for all investigated trajectories ensures the reliability of this method.

Entanglement and quantum discord in the cavity QED models

Hui‐hui Miao, Wanshun Li

We investigate the quantum correlation between light and matter in bipartite quantum systems, drawing on the Jaynes–Cummings model and the Tavis–Cummings model, which are well-established in cavity quantum electrodynamics. Through the resolution of the quantum master equation, we can derive the dissipative dynamics in open systems. To assess the extent of quantum correlation, several measures are introduced: von Neumann entropy, concurrence and quantum discord. The effects of initial entanglement and dissipation intensity on quantum discord are carefully examined. Furthermore, we examined the dynamics of quantum discord within the O H + model.

Quantum discord in the system of two atoms trapped in weak coherent state cavities connected by an optical fiber

LU Dao-ming, 邱昌东 Qiu Changdong

Geometrical quantum discord (GQD) is an effective measure of quantum correlation in quantum systems. We study GQD dynamics in an atom-cavity-fiber system. GQD between atoms and that between cavities are investigated. The influences of coupling constant between cavity and fiber and the intensity of the cavity field on GQD are discussed. Results show that GQD between atoms and that between cavities all display periodical evolutions, and their evolution frequencies increase with increasing coupling constant between cavity and fiber. On the other hand, the GQD between atoms and that between cavities are all strengthened with increasing intensity of the cavity field.
