Abstract

We present a review of the dynamical features such as generation, propagation, distribution, sudden transition and freezing of the various quantum correlation measures, as Concurrence, Entanglement of Formation, Quantum Discord, as well their geometrical measure counterparts within the models of Cavity Quantum Electrodynamics Networks. Dissipation and thermal effects are discussed both in the generation of quantum correlations as well as their effect on the sudden changes and freezing of the classical and quantum correlations in a cavity quantum electrodynamical network. For certain initial conditions, double transitions in the Bures geometrical discord are found. One of these transitions tends to disappear at a critical temperature.

Thermal effects on sudden changes and freezing of correlations between remote atoms in a cavity quantum electrodynamics network

Vitalie Eremeev, Nellu Ciobanu, Miguel Orszag

We investigate thermal effects on sudden changes and freezing of the quantum and classical correlations of remote qubits in a cavity quantum electrodynamics (CQED) network with losses. We find that the detrimental effect of thermal reservoirs on the freezing of correlations can be compensated via an efficient coupling of the fiber connecting the two cavities of the system. Furthermore, for certain initial conditions, we find a double sudden transition in the dynamics of Bures geometrical quantum discord. The second transition tends to disappear at a critical temperature, hence freezing the discord. Finally, we discuss the feasibility of the experimental realization of the present proposal.

Frozen geometric discord in dissipative cavity quantum electrodynamics system

Wei Wu, Jing‐Bo Xu

We investigate the dynamics of geometric quantum correlations for certain decoherence channels and discuss the necessary conditions for the existence of frozen geometric discord. As illustrative examples, we study the phenomenon of double sudden transitions in geometric discord for a system consisting of two noninteracting atoms inserted in two independent dissipative cavities and how the initial state parameters and decay rate of dissipative cavities affect the frozen time during which the geometric discord remains constant. We also explore the dynamics of geometric discord between two noninteracting atoms trapped in a common dissipative cavity and find that the geometric discord exhibits sudden transition between classical and quantum decoherence. Moreover, a nonzero stationary geometric discord can arise in both the independent cavity case and common cavity case.

Entanglement and quantum discord in the cavity QED models

Hui‐hui Miao, Wanshun Li

We investigate the quantum correlation between light and matter in bipartite quantum systems, drawing on the Jaynes–Cummings model and the Tavis–Cummings model, which are well-established in cavity quantum electrodynamics. Through the resolution of the quantum master equation, we can derive the dissipative dynamics in open systems. To assess the extent of quantum correlation, several measures are introduced: von Neumann entropy, concurrence and quantum discord. The effects of initial entanglement and dissipation intensity on quantum discord are carefully examined. Furthermore, we examined the dynamics of quantum discord within the O H + model.

Sudden transition and sudden change of quantum discord in dissipative cavity quantum electrodynamics system

Qi-Liang He, Jing‐Bo Xu

The dynamics of classical correlation and quantum correlation of two qubits in an independent and common dissipative cavity are studied. We show that for an independent case, the quantum correlation keeps constant and the correlation relation decays before the critical time point Ωt¯. On the other hand t>Ωt¯, for the classical correlation does not change and the quantum correlation is lost. These situations demonstrate that the phenomenon of sudden transition between classical and quantum decoherence appears during the time evolution. For the common case, the quantum correlation dynamics is quite different. It is displayed that for some initial states, the quantum correlation can increase up to the critical point of time, after which it decreases, which means that the quantum correlation presents a sudden change of behavior in their decay rates. But for other initial states, the quantum correlation can keep increasing up to some-steady state value. Furthermore, we also investigate the nonzero quantum correlation between two qubits induced by the dissipation of the cavity.

Dynamic behavior of the quantum correlations of two cavity fields in the double Jaynes–Cummings model

Abstract The influence of the atom’s spatial degrees of freedom and the purity of the initial state on the dynamics of Bell non-locality, entanglement, geometric measure of quantum discord (GMQD) and quantum discord in a double Jaynes–Cummings model are investigated. We study the above four quantum correlations for an initial Werner-like state between the electronic states of the two atoms and between the two cavities respectively and find that all these quantum correlations are sensitive to the wave packet width and the purity of the initial state. For Bell non-locality, we find the phenomenon of sudden death and sudden birth, whereas the other three quantum correlations decay to zero asymptotically. We find that both the wave packet width and the purity of the initial state affect the GMQD and quantum discord in a similar way and we also notice that GMQD and quantum discord always exist, except where the purity of the initial state is zero, while Bell non-locality and entanglement can occur only when the purity meets certain conditions.
