Bosonization in arbitrary dimensions

Shirish M. Chitanvis

Using methods of functional integration, and performing simple Gaussian integrals, I show that an interacting system of electrons can be bosonized in arbitrary dimensions, in terms of the electrostatic potential which mediates the interaction between them. Working with the bosonic field, the sytem is shown to exhibit localized structures reminiscent of striping in the cuprates.

Exactly Soluble Quantum-Statistical System

R. G. Storer

The partition function for a system of bosons or fermions interacting via pairwise harmonic forces is evaluated exactly. It is found that the partition function has a structure similar to that of a system of independent bosons or fermions in an external harmonic well with, however, an important modification which implies a greatly reduced density of states.

Spectral Functions of Strongly Interacting Isospin- 12 Bosons in One Dimension

К. А. Матвеев, Akira Furusaki

We study a system of one-dimensional (iso)spin-1/2 bosons in the regime of strong repulsive interactions. We argue that the low-energy spectrum of the system consists of acoustic density waves and the spin excitations described by an effective ferromagnetic spin chain with a small exchange constant J. We use this description to compute the dynamic spin structure factor and the spectral functions of the system.
