Abstract

In this paper, we introduce two new classes of nonlinear squeezed states that we name as f-deformed squeezed vacuum state |ξ, f〉 even and f-deformed squeezed first excited state |ξ, f〉 odd , which according to their production processes, essentially include only even and odd bases of Fock space, respectively. In the continuation, we introduce the superposition of these two distinct nonlinear squeezed states with a respective phase φ. Then, some of the criteria which imply the nonclassicality of the states, such as Mandel parameter, second-order correlation function, quadrature squeezing, amplitude-squared squeezing, Husimi and Wigner–Weyl quasi-distribution functions, are numerically examined. At last, by considering a well-known nonlinearity function associated with a nonlinear physical system, we present our results which outcome from the numerical calculations. It is shown that, the introduced f-deformed states can reveal high nonclassical features.

A new class off-deformed charge coherent states and their nonclassical properties

M Mortazavi, M K Tavassoly

Two-mode charge (pair) coherent states have been introduced previously by using the 〈η| representation. In this paper, we reobtain these states by a rather different method. Then, using the nonlinear coherent state approach and based on a simple manner by which the representation of two-mode charge coherent states is introduced, we generalize the bosonic creation and annihilation operators to the f -deformed ladder operators and construct a new class of f -deformed charge coherent states. Unlike the (linear) pair coherent states, our presented structure has the potential to generate a large class of pair coherent states with various nonclassicality signs and physical properties which are of interest. For this purpose, we use a few well-known nonlinearity functions associated with particular quantum systems as some physical appearances of our presented formalism. After introducing the explicit form of the above correlated states in the two-mode Fock space, several nonclassicality features of the corresponding states (as well as the two-mode linear charge coherent states) are numerically investigated by calculating quadrature squeezing, the Mandel parameter, the second-order correlation function, the second-order correlation function between the two modes and the Cauchy–Schwartz inequality. Also, the oscillatory behaviour of the photon count and the quasi-probability (Husimi) function of the associated states will be discussed. This article is part of a special issue of Journal of Physics A: Mathematical and Theoretical devoted to ‘Coherent states: mathematical and physical aspects’.

Properties of new even and odd nonlinear coherent states with different parameters

Cheng Zhang, Rui-Jiao Miao, Xiao-Qiu Qi

We construct a class of nonlinear coherent states (NLCSs) by introducing a more general nonlinear function and study their nonclassical properties, specifically the second-order correlation function [Formula: see text], Mandel parameter Q, squeezing, amplitude-squared squeezing and Wigner function of the optical field. The results indicate that the nonclassical properties of the new types of even and odd NLCSs crucially depend on the nonlinear functions. More concretely, we find that the new even NLCSs could exhibit the photon-bunching effect, whereas the new odd NLCSs could show the photon-antibunching effect. The degree of squeezing is also significantly affected by the parameter selection of these NLCSs. By employing various forms of nonlinear functions, it becomes possible to construct the NLCSs with diverse properties, thereby providing a theoretical foundation for the corresponding experimental investigations.

Deformed photon-added entangled squeezed vacuum and one-photon states: Entanglement, polarization, and nonclassical properties

Amir Karimi, Mohammad Kazem Tavassoly

In this paper, after a brief review on the entangled squeezed states, we produce a new class of the continuous-variable-type entangled states, namely, deformed photon-added entangled squeezed states. These states are obtained via the iterated action of the f -deformed creation operator A = f ( n ) a † on the entangled squeezed states. In the continuation, by studying the criteria such as the degree of entanglement, quantum polarization as well as sub-Poissonian photon statistics, the two-mode correlation function, one-mode and two-mode squeezing, we investigate the nonclassical behaviors of the introduced states in detail by choosing a particular f -deformation function. It is revealed that the above-mentioned physical properties can be affected and so may be tuned by justifying the excitation number, after choosing a nonlinearity function. Finally, to generate the introduced states, we propose a theoretical scheme using the nonlinear Jaynes–Cummings model.

Single-mode nonlinear excited entangled coherent states and their nonclassical properties

Amir Karimi, Mohammad Kazem Tavassoly

In this paper, after a brief review of the single-mode excited entangled coherent states, two new classes of continuous-variable entangled pure states, namely, single-mode nonlinear excited entangled coherent states, have been produced by using the f -deformed creation operator instead of . In order to establish the nonclassicality of the states, some of the physical properties of the corresponding entangled states, such as entanglement degree, photon statistics, second-order correlation function and quadrature squeezing have been studied in detail by choosing a particular f -deformation function. In addition, the influence of photon excitations on the properties of our introduced states has been analyzed and the results compared with those of a single-mode excited entangled coherent state. In continuation, a theoretical scheme for their generation based on the interaction of a two-level atom with a quantized cavity field has been proposed.

Nonclassicality of entangled Schrödinger cat states associated to generalized displaced Fock states

Seyedeh Robabeh Miry, Mohammad Javad Faghihi, Hajar Mahmoudi

Abstract In this paper, we introduce some distinct classes of entangled cat states associated to generalized displaced Fock states. For this purpose, we use the formalism of nonlinear coherent states corresponding to nonlinear oscillator algebra which yields various kinds of f-deformed entangled states. We also take a particular class of Gilmore-Perelomov-type of SU(1, 1) and a class of SU(2) coherent states. We then obtain the amount of entanglement between subsystems of the quantum states of interest by applying the measure of concurrence. Furthermore, examining some of the most important criteria, such as Mandels Q parameter, quadrature squeezing and Vogels characteristic function, we study the nonclassicality of the introduced quantum states. The numerical results show remarkable values of entanglement, sub-Poissonian statistics of the field, and squeezing indicating that the introduced states can be regarded as possible candidates for nonclassical entangled states. Afterwards, we see that the Vogel function for quantum states of interests goes beyond the value of characteristic function of the ground state, which shows the nonclassicality of the introduced states.

Quantum phase distribution and the number phase Wigner function of the generalized squeezed vacuum states associated with solvable quantum systems

Gholamreza Honarasa, Mohammad Kazem Tavassoly, Mohsen Hatami

The quantum phase properties of the generalized squeezed vacuum states associated with solvable quantum systems are studied by using the Pegg—Barnett formalism. Then, two nonclassical features, i.e., squeezing in the number and phase operators, as well as the number—phase Wigner function of the generalized squeezed states are investigated. Due to some actual physical situations, the present approach is applied to two classes of generalized squeezed states: solvable quantum systems with discrete spectra and nonlinear squeezed states with particular nonlinear functions. Finally, the time evolution of the nonclassical properties of the considered systems has been numerically investigated.
