Experimental realization of the one qubit Deutsch-Jozsa algorithm in a quantum dot

Pablo Bianucci, Andreas Müller, Chih-Kang Ken Shih +3 more

We perform quantum interference experiments on a single self-assembled semiconductor quantum dot. The presence or absence of a single exciton in the dot provides a qubit that we control with femtosecond time resolution. We combine a set of quantum operations to realize the single-qubit Deutsch-Jozsa algorithm. The results show the feasibility of single-qubit quantum logic in a semiconductor quantum dot using ultrafast optical control.

IMPLEMENTATION OF ONE-QUBIT DEUTSCH–JOZSA ALGORITHM IN A TRIPLE-WELL SEMICONDUCTOR QUANTUM DOT SYSTEM

Ping Dong, Zheng Xiao-Hu, Zhuo‐Liang Cao

A physical scheme for implementing the one-qubit Deutsch–Jozsa algorithm by electronic population adiabatic transfer in a triple-well quantum dot system is proposed. The scheme is relatively insensitive to gate errors and other external noise. Furthermore, the implementation of Deutsch–Jozsa algorithm via the quantum dot system provides a good example for oracle-based solid quantum computing.

Deutsch-Jozsa Algorithm Using Triggered Single Photons from a Single Quantum Dot

Matthias Scholz, Thomas Aichele, Sven Ramelow +1 more

We demonstrate a two-qubit Deutsch-Jozsa algorithm with single photons from a single InP quantum dot. The qubits are implemented via the spatial mode and the polarization of a single photon. Our photon source is operated both under continuous and pulsed excitation, the latter allowing deterministic quantum logic by generating photons on demand with a strong suppression of two-photon events. The computation reached a success probability of up to 79%. We also exploit the concept of decoherence-free subspaces that helps to make our experimental setup robust against sources of phase noise.

Deutsch-Jozsa algorithm using triggered single photons from a single quantum dot

Matthias Scholz, Sven Ramelow, Oliver J. Benson +1 more

We present a two-qubit Deutsch-Jozsa algorithm with single photons generated in a single InP(GaInP) quantum dot. The two qubits are implemented using a dual-rail representation and the polarization state of a single photon. We could obtain a fidelity of up to 79%. Since the success probability of our computation is limited by phase-noise in an interferometric setup, we use noise-resistant encoding in appropriate superpositions of spatial modes.

Implementation of the Deutsch-Jozsa algorithm with Josephson charge qubits

Jens Siewert, Rosario Fazio

We investigate the realization of a simple solid-state quantum computer by implementing the Deutsch-Jozsa algorithm in a system of Josephson charge qubits. Starting from a procedure to carry out the one-qubit Deutsch-Jozsa algorithm we show how the N -qubit version of the Bernstein-Vazirani algorithm can be realized. For the implementation of the three-qubit Deutsch-Jozsa algorithm we study in detail a set-up which allows us to produce entangled states.
