Abstract

We investigate the realization of a simple solid-state quantum computer by implementing the Deutsch-Jozsa algorithm in a system of Josephson charge qubits. Starting from a procedure to carry out the one-qubit Deutsch-Jozsa algorithm we show how the N -qubit version of the Bernstein-Vazirani algorithm can be realized. For the implementation of the three-qubit Deutsch-Jozsa algorithm we study in detail a set-up which allows us to produce entangled states.

Quantum Algorithms for Josephson Networks

Jens Siewert, Rosario Fazio

We analyze possible implementations of quantum algorithms in a system of (macroscopic) Josephson charge qubits. System layout and parameters to realize the Deutsch algorithm with up to three qubits are provided. Special attention is paid to the necessity of entangled states in the various implementations. Further, we demonstrate explicitly that the gates to implement the Bernstein-Vazirani algorithm can be realized by using a system of uncoupled qubits.

Implementation of the Four-Bit Deutsch-Jozsa Algorithm with Josephson Charge Qubits

Norbert Schuch, Jens Siewert

We show that the Deutsch-Jozsa algorithm for up to four qubits can be realized with a setup of Josephson charge qubits. While existing proposals for the implementation of the algorithm (for up to three qubits) are based on certain classifications of the oracles, this approach becomes increasingly cumbersome for higher qubit numbers. Here we present a method to implement all balanced functions for the four-qubit algorithm by a fixed sequence of operations. The free parameters which define the implemented function are the rotation angles of 15 one-qubit operations.

Scheme for Implementing Refined Deutsch–Jozsa Algorithm via Superconducing Qubits

Zheng Xiao-Hu, YU Ben-li, Zhang Gang +1 more

We propose a scheme of implementing the Deutsch–Jozsa algorithm based on superconducing charge qubits, which would be a key step to scale more complex quantum algorithms and very important for constructing a real quantum computer via superconducting charge qubits. The present scheme is simple but fairly efficient, and easily manipulated because arbitrary two-qubit can be selectively and effectively coupled by a common inductance. More manipulations can be carried out before decoherence sets in. The proposed scheme is in line with current technology.

Scheme for the implementation of a D-J quantum algorithm

Zhuo‐Liang Cao

We propose two physical schemes for implementing the simplest version of Deutsch-Jozsa algorithm(D-J) based on cavity QED technique. One is a perfect scheme, which can be generalized to multi-qubit inputs Deutsch-Jozsa algorithm. It can be realized with the help of controlled-NOT gates and single-qubit operations. The detailed process in cavity QED is discussed in the scheme. The other is a simpler scheme without controlled-NOT gates, which is only suit for the simplest version of Deutsch-Jozsa algorithm. The scheme only requires single-qubit operation. Thus the scheme can be realized easier than the former one.Our schemes would be an important step for quantum computer.

IMPLEMENTING DEUTSCH–JOZSA ALGORITHM USING SUPERCONDUCTING QUBIT NETWORK

Zheng Xiao-Hu, Ming Yang, Ping Dong +1 more

An improved architecture, which performs a universal set of gates by current biasing of coupling Josephson junction, has been proposed. This improvement is necessary to the realization of a functional and scalable quantum computer. The proposed architecture is in line with current technology. Secondly, we investigate a scheme for implementing the Deutsch–Jozsa algorithm via the improved architecture. It is a simple, scalable and feasible scheme for the implementation of the Deutsch–Jozsa algorithm based on the current-controlled superconducting charge qubit network.

Based on the Josephson charge qubits coupled through microwaves, a scheme for implementation of the Deutsch–Jozsa algorithm is proposed under the present scalable and feasible microfabrication technique. It would be a valuable step toward complex quantum computation.
