The kinetic processes of free light induction and stimulated photon echo on the ions accelerated by the electric field in plasma have been investigated. We show that it is possible to transform the information characteristics of the coherent optical pulses based on the acceleration effects.
The coherent light pulses obtained in the experiments of light echoes type [1] (as induction and echoes signals) and generated by the electric dipole system bring the information about the dynamical properties of the dipole system and are used for the registration of that information. As to the dynamics of the emitted photons them-selves at the present time the effects of pulse form changing [2] and self-induced transperancy [3] caused by the photon system interaction with the matter were taken into consideration only. In this work we discuss the memory effects of the system of photons itself spreading into the vacuum. The discussed effect is the method of the space-time coherence re-establishment of the laser radiation on the basis of application the effect which we called the photon echoes. The point of the method is in the plural reflection of electromagnetic radiation from the mirrors which gives the steady-state conditions of the electromagnetic wave spreading and is caused by diffraction. In itself the steady-state conditions of the electromagnetic wave spreading denote that the mutual intensity function J(n)(x1, x2) is not dependent of the X1 and x2 coordinates if the n is sufficiently large (it is the factorisation condition of the mutual intensity function), and as it was shown in the work [4] the
Photon echo and free induction decay, i.e., representative coherent optical transients, are described for two level system whose transition frequency is modulated by the Gaussian-Markoffian process. Photon echo signal is shown to decay biexponentially and to be effective in fixing the magnitude and the correlation time of the frequency modulation. Then we present the transition of the free induction decay rate against laser intensity from the Bloch type at the weak laser field into the Redfield one at the strong laser field.
When an intense and short laser pulse or a fast-switching-on/off laser field interacts with a resonant absorbing medium, several optical coherent transient effects can be observed, including the self-induced transparency effect, photon echo effect, optical nutation effect, and the optical free induction decay effect. The study of these effects enables us to gain a deeper understanding of the coherent transient interaction of an intense pulsed or rapidly switched optical field with the resonant medium, and to measure the magnitude of the dipole-moment matrix elements, relaxation parameters, and spectral broadening mechanisms of the investigated materials. On the other hand, these optical coherent transient effects can also be applied for developing special techniques of optical pulse delay, pulse reshaping, and optical pulse manipulation.
