ENTANGLEMENT AND AUTOCORRELATION FUNCTION IN SEMICONDUCTOR MICROCAVITIES

Abstract

The autocorrelation function of the light emitted by a microcavity containing a semiconductor quantum well in the nonstationary regime is investigated. An analytical expression in the weak pumping and strong coupling regime is derived. Furthermore, it is shown that the initial entangled state can be deduced from the nonstationary autocorrelation function.

Auto- and Cross-Correlation-Functions as entanglement quantifiers in semiconductor microcavities

Rubén Darío Guerrero

The dynamics of the exciton-photon entanglement, in a semiconductor microcavity is analyzed. Finding a closed analytical expression for the time evolution of the concurrence. Using as model two coupled, quantum oscillators with detuning between them. Supposing that the system is at a temperature closer to zero. And that the quantum state of the system, remains in the one excitation sector of the total Hilbert space. The former theoretical setup, describes the excitons coupled to the photons in the microcavity accurately, for a system with ultra low density of excitons. We remark in first place, that our closed expression for the concurrence dynamics. Enable us to establish a good analytical criterion, to determine the coupling dynamical regime, in which the system is. Even more, we show that our criterion, is in good agreement with typically accepted, experimental signatures for strong, and wake coupling regimes. Finally we present theoretical evidence, suggesting that the entanglement between the exciton and the photon. Can be measured in experiments, vía the cross correlation contribution, to the time resolved spectra of the system.

Time-resolved second-order correlations of microcavity photons

A. V. Poshakinskiy, Alexander N. Poddubny

The time dependence of the correlations between the photons, emitted from the microcavity with embedded quantum dot under incoherent pumping, is studied theoretically. Analytical expressions for the second-order correlation function g2(t) are presented in strong and weak coupling regimes. At moderate pumping the correlation function demonstrates Rabi oscillations, while at larger pumping it shows monoexponential decay. The decay time of the correlations nonmonotonously depends on the pumping value and has a maximum corresponding to the self-quenching transition.

Time-dependent photon correlations for incoherently pumped quantum dot strongly coupled to the cavity mode

A. V. Poshakinskiy, Alexander N. Poddubny

The time dependence of correlations between the photons emitted from a microcavity with an embedded quantum dot under incoherent pumping is studied theoretically. Analytic expressions for the second-order correlation function g (2)(t) are presented in strong and weak coupling regimes. The qualitative difference between the incoherent and coherent pumping schemes in the strong coupling case is revealed: under incoherent pumping, the correlation function demonstrates pronounced Rabi oscillations, but in the resonant pumping case, these oscillations are suppressed. At high incoherent pumping, the correlations decay monoexponentially. The decay time nonmonotonically depends on the pumping value and has a maximum corresponding to the self-quenching transition.

Quantum fluctuations inside a microcavity with a pair of quantum wells: linear regime

Houcem Jabri, Hichem Eleuch

Quantum fluctuations of a system formed by two quantum wells inside a microcavity are investigated. The noise spectrum and the autocorrelation function are analyzed, and analytical expressions are derived. It is shown here that the noises are equally balanced over direct and indirect exciton thermal baths. The double quantum well system induces more fluctuations compared to the system formed by a single quantum well inside a microcavity. Unlike the latter system, the autocorrelation function of the cavity depends on the exciton thermal bath populations. It turns out that the photon detection probability is affected by coupling with the indirect exciton thermal bath.
