“Interaction-free” reduction of the state vector

Abstract

A nonlocal “interaction-free” experiment is discussed. It is shown that if we do not accept nonlocal interaction-free reduction of the state vector, then we have to admit the possibility of faster-than-light communication.

Optical tests of quantum nonlocality: from EPR-Bell tests towards experiments with moving observers

N. Gisin, Valerio Scarani, Wolfgang Tittel +1 more

Past, present and future experimental tests of quantum nonlocality are discussed. Consequences of assuming that the state-vector collapse is a real physical phenomenon in space-time are developed. These lead to experiments feasible with today's technology.

What is wrong with SLASH?

Karl Svozil

In an experiment featuring nonlinear optics, delayed choice and EPR-type correlations, the possibility of faster-than-light communication appears not totally implausible. Attempts are put forward and discussed to refute this claim.

Faster than Light Quantum Communication

Faster than light communication might be possible using the collapse of the quantum wave-function without any accompanying paradoxes.

Nonlocal `interaction-free' reduction of the state vector

Luiz Carlos Ryff, Carlos Henrique Monken

A nonlocal `interaction-free' experiment is discussed. It is shown that the absence of detection of a photon of a polarization-entangled pair can `force' the other photon of the pair into a well-defined polarization state. Its consequences for a possible ontological interpretation of quantum mechanical formalism are examined.

Deterministic nonlinear quantum evolution. Experimental verification

Alexey Yur'evich Samarin

It is described a nonlocal interaction between entangled quantum objects, which is initiated by a process different from the reduction of the wave function. The scheme of an experiment realizing a deterministic nonlocal quantum evolution is proposed. In the case of the negative result of the experiment, the universal character of the integral wave equation with a kernel in the form of a path integral is questionable, otherwise faster-then-light communication is possible

Nonlocality in quantum theory

Belinsky, Alexander V., A. K. Zhukovskiy

This article describes a proposed way to conduct an experiment using a correlated particle pair in an entangled state, which leaves no room for any local models.
