Abstract

We show how a controlled phase gate, induced by adiabatic passage of dark states, can be implemented with the nitrogen-vacancy defects in nanocrystal coupled to the optical whispering gallery mode in a silica microsphere cavity. The gate presented is robust to the fluctuations of the experimental parameters compared to the dynamical and geometric phases gates. The feasibility of this scheme is characterized by exact numerical simulations that incorporate various sources of experiment noise. The results demonstrate the practicality by way of current experimental technologies.

Entanglement of separate nitrogen-vacancy centers coupled to a whispering-gallery mode cavity

W. L. Yang, Xu, Z. Y., Mang Feng +1 more

We present a quantum electrodynamical model involving nitrogen-vacancy centers coupled to a whispering-gallery mode cavity. Two schemes are considered to create W state and Bell state, respectively. One of the schemes makes use of the Raman transition with the cavity field virtually excited; The other enables the Bell state preparation and quantum information transfer by virtue of dark state evolution and adiabatic passage, which is tolerant to ambient noise and experimental parameter fluctuations. We justify our schemes by considering the experimental feasibility and challenge using currently available technology.

One-step implementation of multiqubit conditional phase gating with nitrogen-vacancy centers coupled to a high-Q silica microsphere cavity

W. L. Yang, Z. Q. Yin, Z. Y. Xu +2 more

The diamond nitrogen-vacancy (NV) center is an excellent candidate for quantum information processing, whereas entangling separate NV centers is still of great experimental challenge. We propose a one-step conditional phase flip with three NV centers coupled to a whispering-gallery mode cavity by virtue of the Raman transition and smart qubit encoding. As decoherence is much suppressed, our scheme could work for more qubits. The experimental feasibility is justified.

Generation of three-dimensional entanglement with spin qubits coupled to a bimodal microsphere cavity

Anshou Zheng, Xiangying Hao, Xin‐You Lü

An alternative scheme is proposed to generate three-dimensional entanglement with two nitrogen-vacancy (N-V) centres coupled strongly to whispering gallery modes in a silica microsphere. The present scheme takes full advantage of the ultrahigh quality factor of silica microspheres and the exceptional spin properties of N-V centres. Our numerical simulation shows that our scheme is stable to deviation of corresponding experimental parameters and insensitive to decoherence such as the excited state spontaneous emission and cavity decay. In addition, based on the same model, three-dimensional entanglement can be realized by adiabatic evolution of the dark state.

Non-Geometric Conditional Phase Gate by Quantum Zeno Dynamics in Laser-Excited Nitrogen-Vacancy Centers

Wan-Jun Su, Li-Tuo Shen, Huai‐Zhi Wu +1 more

Based on the quantum Zeno dynamics, we propose a two-qubit non-geometric conditional phase gate between two nitrogen-vacancy centers coupled to a whispering-gallery mode cavity. The varying phases design of periodic laser can be used for realizing non-geometric conditional phase gate, and the cavity mode is virtually excited during the gate operation. Thus, the fidelity of the gate operation is insensitive to cavity decay and the fluctuation of the preset laser intensity. The numerical simulation with a realistic set of experimental parameters shows that the gate fidelity 0.987 can be within reached in the near future.
