Abstract

A scheme is presented for the generation of arbitrary multi-mode quantum states of a field with equal photon numbers in these modes. It is based on the injection of a sequence of (M + 1)-level atoms into a cavity involving M modes.

Efficient scheme for the preparation of arbitrary anticorrelated states of a two-mode field

Zheng Shi-Biao

A scheme is presented for generating any anticorrelated state of a two-mode field. In the scheme a sequence of suitably prepared three-level V-type atoms are sent across a two-mode cavity initially in the vacuum state. The detection of all the atoms in the ground state collapses the two-mode field to the desired state.

Efficient scheme for preparation of the multi-atom W state via cavity quantum electrodynamics

Jin Zhang, Liu Ye

We present an efficient scheme for preparation of the multi-atom W state via cavity quantum electrodynamics. Involved in this scheme are n identical two-level atoms and a single-mode cavity field. Discussion indicates that this scheme can be realized easily by current technologies.

Generation of a class of arbitrary two-mode field states in a cavity

Bimalendu Deb, Gautam Gangopadhyay, Deb Shankar Ray

We have shown how a class of arbitrary two-mode field states can be generated by the injection of three-level \ensuremath{\Lambda}-type atoms into a two-mode resonator. An explicit example with SU(2) coherent states has been worked out.

Nonclassical states in cavity with injected atoms

Gombojav O. Ariunbold, Jan Peřina, Ts. Gantsog

It is found that displacement and squeezing of arbitrary initial states of the field can be produced in the model of a lossless cavity when a large number of two-level atoms is injected, which are prepared in a superposition state coupled to the single mode via a multi-photon transition under the weak atom-field interaction. The dependence of the field density matrix elements on the number of injected atoms indicates that due to the same initial atomic coherence the emission of individual atoms is a co-operative process.

Photon-number-state generation with a single two-level atom in a cavity: a proposal

A single two-level atom can be used to prepare an arbitrary photon number state (Fock state) in a high Q cavity . The atom undergoes a controlled succession of interactions with two cavity modes. One of them contains a coherent field. The atom transfers photons one by one from this field to the initially empty second mode. The scheme can be extended to prepare a quantum superposition of the vacuum with a Fock state, a highly non-classical situation. We discuss the feasibility of the experiment with our present Rydberg-atom cavity QED set-up.
