Abstract

We propose a potential scheme of preparing Schrodinger-cat state of the cavity mode by placing an rf-superconducting quantum interference device (rf-SQUID) in a single-mode microwave cavity. By properly adjusting the detuning and the strength regarding the radiation fields, we show how to generate single-mode Schrodinger-cat state. Generalizing this method we discuss the generation of the engtangled coherent states. The experimental feasibility of our scheme is discussed under consideration of the cavity decay.

Preparation of Entanglement and Schrödinger Cat States of Superconducting Quantum Interference Devices Qubits via Coupling to a Microwave Cavity

Wen‐Xing Yang

An alternative scheme is proposed for the generation of n-qubit W states of superconducting quantum interference devices (SQUID) in cavity QED. In this scheme, Raman coupling of two lower flux states of SQUID system is achieved via a microwave pulse and the cavity mode. Conditioned on no photon leakage from the cavity, the n-qubit W state can be generated whether the effective coupling parameters of the SQUID to cavity mode and classical microwave fields are the same or different. Our strictly numerical simulations of the time evolution of the system including decay show that the success probability of our scheme is almost unity and the interaction time is on the order of 10 −9 s. The scheme can also be used to generate the Schrödinger cat states of multi-SQUID.

Preparation of Schrodinger cat states of a cavity field via coupling to a SQUID-based charge qubit

Yu-xi Liu, L. F. Wei, Franco Nori

Based on the measurement of charge states, we show that the superpositions of two macroscopically distinguishable coherent states (Schr\\"odinger cat states) of a single-mode cavity field can be generated by a controllable interaction between a cavity field and a SQUID-based charge qubit. After such cat states of the cavity field are created, the interaction can be switched off by the classical magnetic field through the SQUID, and there is no information transfer between the cavity field and the charge qubit. We also discuss the generation of superpositions of two squeezed coherent states.

PREPARATION OF ENTANGLED STATES OF CAVITY FIELD VIA COUPLING TO SUPERCONDUCTING QUANTUM INTERFERENCE DEVICE

Zhiming Zhan

Based on the interaction of a superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) with the field in high-quality QED and a classical microwave pulse, we propose a scheme for preparing an entangled multipartite W state between different modes of cavity field. In principle, the scheme can be extended to generate a N-party W state. Moreover, the scheme can be used for the generation of multimode entangled coherent states.

Generation of an N-qubit cluster state via superconducting quantum interference devices

Gao Feng

We propose a model to implement the standard two-qubit quantum phase gate via a large detuned interaction of two superconducting quantum interference devices(SQUIDs) with a single-mode vacuum cavity-field.With the constructed phase gate,a scheme for generating an N-qubit cluster state is also presented. In our protocol, the quantum information is encoded in the ground states of two rf SQUIDs.During the interaction between the rf SQUIDs and the single-mode vacuum cavity-field,the effect of decoherence caused from the upper levels of the SQUID system is negligible due to fact that the excited states of the rf SQUIDs are adiabatically eliminated under large detuning condition. The experimental feasibility of the schemes is also discussed.

Preparation of Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger entangled states with multiple superconducting quantum-interference device qubits or atoms in cavity QED

Chui‐Ping Yang, Siyuan Han

A scheme is proposed for generating Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) entangled states of multiple superconducting quantum-interference device (SQUID) qubits by the use of a microwave cavity. The scheme operates essentially by creating a single photon through an auxiliary SQUID built in the cavity and performing a joint multiqubit phase shift with assistance of the cavity photon. It is shown that entanglement can be generated using this method, deterministic and independent of the number of SQUID qubits. In addition, we show that the present method can be applied to preparing many atoms in a GHZ entangled state, with tolerance to energy relaxation during the operation.
