Holographic Laser as a Source of Continuous Variable Entanglement

Abstract

We study the generation and evolution of continuous-variable entanglement in a holographic laser. The two-level atomic medium is trapped in a ring cavity, and couples with two counter-propagating modes. By simulating the dynamics of the system, our numerical results show that the two-mode continuous variable (CV) entanglement can be realized in the present system even in the presence of cavity loss. This investigation provides a research clue for realizing CV entanglement in a two-level atomic medium, which is simpler than the previous works.

Continuous-variable entanglement in a two-mode four-level single-atom laser

Xin‐You Lü, Jibing Liu, Liu-Gang Si +1 more

This paper investigate the generation and evolution of continuous-variable entanglement in a two-mode single-atom laser, where the atomic coherence is induced by two classical laser fields (pump and coupling field) driving the corresponding atom transitions. It is found that the intensity of the coupling field can influence effectively the entanglement period of the cavity field. More importantly, our numerical results also show that the intensity and period of entanglement between the two cavity modes as well as the total mean photon number of the cavity field can be increased synchronously by adjusting the corresponding frequency detuning.

Continuous-Variable Entanglement in Tunnel-Coupled Double Quantum Wells

Xin‐You Lü, Jibing Liu, Xiangying Hao +2 more

This paper investigates the generation and evolution of continuous-variable entanglement in an asymmetric coupled-quantum well (CQW) system. Our numerical results show that this CQW system can be regarded as a source of macroscopic entangled light over a wide range of initial states of the cavity field. This investigation can be used for achieving the macroscopic entangled light in the CQW solid-state medium, which is much more practical than that in an atomic medium because of its flexible design and the controllable interference strength.

Continuous-Variable Entanglement Generation from a Four-State Atom under Raman Excitation

Ting-Ting Zha, Aixi Chen, Wen‐Xing Yang

We investigate the generation and the evolution of continuous-variable (CV) entanglement from a laser-driven four-state atom inside a doubly resonant cavity under Raman excitation. Two transitions in the four-state atom independently interact with the two cavity modes, while two other transitions are driven by coupling laser fields. By including the atomic relaxation as well as cavity losses, we show that the CV entanglement with large mean number of photons can be generated in our scheme. We also show that the intensity of the coupling laser fields can influence effectively the entanglement period of the cavity field. Different from the conventional resonant excitation scheme where zero one-photon detuning are required, it is found that the intensity and period of entanglement between the two cavity modes as well as the total mean photon number of the cavity field can be adjusted by properly modulating the frequency detuning.

Efficient creation of continuous-variable entanglement for two atomic ensembles in coupled cavities

Jie Song, Xiudong Sun, Yan Xia +1 more

We investigate the generation of continuous-variable (CV) entanglement of two separated atomic ensembles in coupled cavities. We find that under certain conditions, the entanglement between the two ensembles is gained periodically when the three-level $\ensuremath{\Lambda}$-type atoms in each ensemble dispersively interact with one classical field and one cavity mode. Generation of the entangled state does not completely depend on the cavity photon number. In addition, the effect of decoherence can be suppressed effectively.

Generation of continuous-variable entanglement in a two-mode four-level single-atom driven by microwave

Song Ming-yu, WU Yao-de

In this paper, we discuss the generation and evolution of continuous-variable entanglement in a two-mode single-atom laser, where the atomic coherence is induced by two classical microwave fields, which drive the corresponding fine atomic transitions. The results show that the intensity of the microwave field can influence effectively the entanglement properties of the cavity field. In addition, our numerical results also show that the intensity and the period of entanglement between the two cavity modes as well as the total mean photon number of the cavity field can be increased synchronously by adjusting the corresponding frequency detuning.

Continuous-variable entanglement in a two-mode lossy cavity: An analytic solution

Colin Vendromin, Marc M. Dignam

Continuous-variable (CV) entanglement is a valuable resource in the field of quantum information. One source of CV entanglement is the correlations between the position and momentum of photons in a two-mode squeezed state of light. In this paper, we theoretically study the generation of squeezed states, via spontaneous parametric down conversion, inside a two-mode lossy cavity that is pumped with a classical optical pulse. The dynamics of the density operator in the cavity is modeled using the Lindblad master equation, and we show that the solution to this model is the density operator for a two-mode squeezed thermal state, with a time-dependent squeezing amplitude and average thermal photon number for each mode. We derive an expression for the minimum correlation variance inside the cavity that depends crucially on the difference in the losses between the two modes. We apply our analytic solution to the important example of a microring resonator that is pumped with a Gaussian pulse. The expressions that we derive will help researchers optimize CV entanglement in lossy cavities.
