Two-level atom in a cross cavity

J. C. García-Melgarejo, Javier J. Sanchez-Mondragon, Karla J. Sánchez Pérez +1 more

In this work we propose a model to analyze the interaction of a two-level atom (TLA) placed in a cross cavity configuration interacting with two electromagnetic fields injected within the cavity. A canonical transformation for field operators is proposed to obtain effective Hamiltonian such as that of Jaynes-Cummings and we calculate the wave function via time-evolution operator. We present results for the atomic inversion for a state in the weak intensity regime.

Dynamics of a two-level atom in a double perpendicular cavity

J. C. García-Melgarejo, N. Lozano-Crisóstomo, Ponciano Rodriguez-Montero +1 more

We propose a variation of the Jaynes-Cummings Model (JCM), which consists of a Two-Level Atom (TLA) within a cross cavity configuration. This new geometry is a suitable tool to understand the origin of new QED features that the original JCM does not reveal, showing revivals in cases where they are not expected to appear. Phase transitions in systems of interacting photons: quantum optics, quantum information, condensed matter and the Jaynes-Cummings-Hubbard model

Andrew D. Greentree

The Jaynes-Cummings-Hubbard model describes a network of interacting atom-cavity systems. In this model the photons can hop between cavities effecting a tunneling interaction, and the Jaynes-Cummings interaction gives rise to an onsite interaction. This model forms a bridge connection between condensed matter physics and quantum optics. Here we review the physics underpinning this model, properties of Jaynes-Cummings-Hubbard systems, the requirements on systems for realizing this model, and some of the progress to date.
