Abstract

We propose a scheme to realize the optimal universal quantum cloning of the polarization state of the photons in context of a microwave cavity quantum electrodynamics. The scheme is based on the resonant interaction of three-level $\ensuremath{\Lambda}$-type atoms with two cavity modes. The operation requires atoms to fly one by one through the cavity. The interaction time between each of the atoms and the cavity is appropriately controlled by using a velocity selector. The scheme is deterministic, and is feasible by the current experimental technology.

Scheme for Implementing Quantum Cloning Restoring Machine in Cavity QED

Long-Bao Yu, Wen‐Hai Zhang, Ye Liu

We propose an experimentally feasible scheme for implementing quantum restoring machine of the optimal universal 1→2 quantum cloning machine in the context of cavity QED. In our scheme, two atoms (the clones) simultaneously interact with a cavity field, and meanwhile they are driven by a classical field. Then an arbitrary unknown input state can be restored in the ancilla by applying appropriate unitary local operation.

Efficient generation of entangled photons by cavity QED

Xinglai Zhang, Mang Feng, K. Gao

A potential scheme is proposed to generate complete sets of entangled photons in the context of cavity quantum electrodynamics (QED). The scheme includes twice interactions of atoms with cavities, in which the first interaction is made in two-mode optical cavities and the second one exists in a microwave cavity. In the optical cavities the atoms are resonant with the cavity modes, while the detuned interaction of the atoms with a single-mode of the microwave cavity is driven by a classical field. We show that our scheme is carried out with higher efficiency than previeous schemes, and is close to the reach of current technique.

Optimal real state quantum cloning machine in cavity quantum electrodynamics

Wei Xiong, Ye Liu

We propose a scheme to realize a special quantum cloning machine (QCM) in cavity quantum electrodynamics (QED). The QCM can copy the information from one atom to another two distant atoms trapped in cavity QED with the help of a single-photon pulse. By choosing different parameters, we can perform an optimal symmetry 1→2 real state QCM and an optimal symmetry 1→3 economical real state QCM.

Scheme to Implement Optimal Asymmetric Economical Phase-Covariant Quantum Cloning in Cavity QED

Wen‐Hai Zhang, Dai Jie-lin, Ye Liu

We propose an experimentally feasible scheme to implement the optimal asymmetric economical 1 → 2 phase-covariant quantum cloning in two dimensions based on the cavity QED technique. The protocol is very simple and only two atoms are required. Our scheme is insensitive to the cavity field states and cavity decay. During the processes, the cavity is only virtually excited and it thus greatly prolongs the efficient decoherent time. Therefore, it may be realized in experiment.

Cavity-quantum-electrodynamics entangled photon source based on two truncated Rabi oscillations

R. García-Maraver, K. Eckert, R. Corbalán +1 more

We discuss a cavity-QED scheme to deterministically generate entangled photons pairs by using a three-level atom successively coupled to two single longitudinal mode high-Q cavities presenting polarization degeneracy. The first cavity is prepared in a well-defined Fock state with two photons with opposite circular polarizations while the second cavity remains in the vacuum state. Half of a resonant Rabi oscillation in each cavity transfers one photon from the first to the second cavity, leaving the photons entangled in their polarization degree of freedom. The feasibility of this implementation and some practical considerations are discussed for both microwave and optical regimes. In particular, Monte Carlo wave-function simulations have been performed with state-of-the-art parameter values to evaluate the success probability of the cavity-QED source in producing entangled photon pairs as well as its entanglement capability.

An Alternative Scheme for Transferring Quantum States and Preparing a Quantum Network in Cavity QED

Zhen‐Biao Yang, Wan-Jun Su

An alternative scheme is proposed to transfer quantum states and prepare a quantum network in cavity QED. It is based on the interaction of a two-mode cavity field with a three-level ∨-type atom. In the scheme, the atom-cavity field interaction is resonant, thus the time required to complete the quantum state transfer process is greatly shortened, which is very important in view of decoherence. Moreover, the present scheme does not require one mode of the cavities to be initially prepared in one-photon state, thus it is more experimentally feasible than the previous ones.
