An Alternative Scheme for Transferring Quantum States and Preparing a Quantum Network in Cavity QED

Abstract

An alternative scheme is proposed to transfer quantum states and prepare a quantum network in cavity QED. It is based on the interaction of a two-mode cavity field with a three-level ∨-type atom. In the scheme, the atom-cavity field interaction is resonant, thus the time required to complete the quantum state transfer process is greatly shortened, which is very important in view of decoherence. Moreover, the present scheme does not require one mode of the cavities to be initially prepared in one-photon state, thus it is more experimentally feasible than the previous ones.

Transferring Multi-Dimensional Quantum States and Preparing Quantum Networks in Cavity QED

Zi-hong Chen, Zheng Xiao-Lan, Chang-Geng Liao

In this paper we propose a scheme for transferring quantum states and preparing quantum networks. Compared with the previous schemes, this scheme is more efficient, since three or four-dimensional quantum states can be transferred with a single step and information interchange of three-dimensional quantum states can be realized, which is a significant improvement. It is based on the resonant interaction of a three-mode cavity field with an atom. As a consequence, the interaction time is shortened greatly. Furthermore, we give some discussions about the feasibility of the scheme.

Transferring of a Two-Mode Entangled State Between Two Cavities via Cavity QED

Tao Wu, NI Zhi-xiang, Ye Liu

We propose a scheme for transferring of a two-mode entanglement of zero- or one-photon entangled states between two cavities via atom-cavity field resonant interaction. In our proposal, in order to transfer the entangled state, we only need two identical two-level atoms and a two-mode cavity for receiving the teleported state. This scheme does not require Bell-state measurement and performing any transformations to reconstruct the initial state. And the transfer can occur with 100% success probability in a simple manner. And a network for transferring of a two-mode entangled state between cavities is suggested. This scheme can also be extended to transfer N -mode entangled state of cavity.

Quantum state transfer, quantum memory, and quantum networks based on multi-photon processes in cavity QED

Moteb M. Alqahtani, Ghayda AlWaleed Abushawarib, B. M. Garraway

Abstract A method is presented for transfer of a quantum state from one atom to another atom. In this method, we consider the interaction of a multi-mode cavity with a multi-level quantum system and adopt the multi-photon resonance theory for preparing an efficient quantum memory and a quantum network. From the use of effective two- and three-level Hamiltonians, the proper values for interaction times, coupling constants, and detunings are predicted. To examine the sensitivity of the quantum state transfer against decoherence processes, we introduce the quantum-jump approach. Proceeding with this approach leads to a description of the system via wavefunctions instead of density operators and provides simple effective differential equations for obtaining analytic expressions of the probability amplitudes.

Generation of four-photon W state via cavity QED

Zhong Zhi-Rong

This paper proposes an alternative scheme for generating four-photon W state via cavity QED. The scheme bases on the resonant interaction of a λ-type three level atom with two bimodal cavities. The detection of atom collapses the cavity to the desired state. Comparing with previous schemes, the advantage of this scheme is that the interaction time can be greatly shortened since it uses the resonant interaction between atom and cavities. Moreover, the proposed scheme is more experimentally feasible than the previous ones.

Alternative Scheme for Teleportation of Two-Atom Entangled State in Cavity QED

Zhen‐Biao Yang

We have proposed an alternative scheme for teleportation of two-atom entangled state in cavity QED. It is based on the degenerate Raman interaction of a single-mode cavity field with a ∧-type three-level atom. The prominent feature of the scheme is that only one cavity is required, which is prior to the previous one. Moreover, the atoms need to be detected are reduced compared with the previous scheme. The experimental feasibility of the scheme is discussed. The scheme can easily be generalized for teleportation of N -atom GHZ entangled states. The number of the atoms needed to be detected does not increase as the number of the atoms in GHZ state increases.
