Phase diagrams of the Kane-Mele-Hubbard model in the presence of an external magnetic field

Ya‐Min Quan, Wei-Cheng Bao, Wei-Hua Wang +1 more

We studied the Kane-Mele-Hubbard model at half filling with Zeeman magnetic field using rotationally invariant slave boson method. The competition between external magnetic field and spin orbital coupling at large Hubbard U is explored. It is found that different canted antiferromagnetic phases exist in the presence of longitudinal and transverse magnetic fields. With longitudinal external magnetic field and strong electron correlation, the z component of the local moment is preferred by the finite spin-orbital coupling.

Partial suppression of magnetism in the square lattice SU(3) Hubbard model

Samuel Bird, Sebastian D. Huber, Jannes Nys

The $\mathrm{SU}(N)$ Hubbard model is a natural extension of the $\mathrm{SU}(2)$ model. However, even the $N=3$ case remains poorly understood. We report a ground-state phase diagram of the square lattice $\mathrm{SU}(3)$ Fermi-Hubbard model. Using a backflow Ansatz, we identify strong signatures of a Mott transition and a subsequent magnetic transition, and the suppression of a previously predicted magnetic phase. We study the hole-doped model, identifying a transition from magnetic to paramagnetic behavior in the strong-coupling regime. Our findings offer a different ground-state picture. More broadly, our work suggests a path to study general $\mathrm{SU}(N)$ Hubbard models with arbitrary filling and geometry.

On the Phase Diagram of Spin-Polarized Attractive Hubbard Model: Weak Coupling Limit

Agnieszka Kujawa, R. Micnas

The superfluid properties of the attractive Hubbard model in a Zeeman magnetic field, and in the weak coupling regime were investigated. The temperature and magnetic field dependences of the order parameter were analyzed.Furthermore, the temperature vs. magnetic field and temperature vs. spin polarization phase diagrams for the 2D and 3D lattices were obtained. For some parameters a reentrant transition was found.
