Steady squeezing in two-mode system

Abstract

Initial conditions corresponding to the stationary evolution of a two-mode two-boson model with interaction between modes and self- action in one of them have been considered. On this basis the possibility of the steady squeezing for both Bose fields has been established. The estimations of the squeezing parameters have been obtained.

Impossibility of steady squeezing for two-mode linear system without self-action

A. A. Bakasov, N. V. Bakasova, Eugene K. Bashkirov +1 more

A solution for the problem of the time evolution of quadrature component variances has been obtained for the two-mode system with the two-boson interaction. As a result, the impossibility of steady squeezing is strictly established. Comparison with the single-mode model shows that the possibility of steady squeezing is due solely to self-action within the modes which is absent for the model considered. Thus, there cannot be cross-over between the model considered and the single-mode model.

Entanglement control in coupled two-mode boson systems

Alexei Vladimirovich Chizhov, R. G. Nazmitdinov

A two-mode boson model, widely used for the physics of fast rotating nuclei and Bose-Einstein condensates, is studied in the context of entanglement control. We derive an analytical expression for the entanglement between the fields in this model as a function of time. We found that depending on the interaction strengths between boson modes and the nature of the initial boson states the dynamical evolution of the entanglement and the squeezing can occur independently.

Dynamics of Quantum Statistical Correlations in Ultracold Bose Gases

Cédric Bodet

The dynamical evolution of an ultracold Bose gas distributed across the sites of an optical lattice is investigated theoretically in the framework of the Bose-Hubbard model. First, the focus is set on the evolution of squeezing correlations in the two mode system. It is shown that the eigenstates of the Hamiltonian do not exploit the full region of possible squeezing allowed by Heisenbergs uncertainty relation for number and phase fl uctuations. The development of nonclassical correlations and relative number squeezing is studied at the transition from the Josephson to the Fock regime. Comparing the full quantum evolution with classical statistical simulations allows us to identify quantum aspects of the squeezing formation. In the quantum regime, the measurement of squeezing allows us to distinguish even and odd total particle number states. Then, a far from equilibrium quantum field theory method, the so-called two-particle-irreducible effective action approach, is presented for the description of the dynamics in larger lattices. The resulting dynamics is compared to the classical statistical time evolution. The validity of the quantum field evolution is probed for various initial conditions in the classical regime.

Squeezing Properties of Light Field Interacting with Bose-Einstein Condensate of Atoms

Ming Li

The Hamiltonian operator of two-mode light field interacting with Bose-Einstein condensate(BEC) of two-level atoms is improved in terms of the lattice-liquid model, and the squeezing properties of two-mode squeezed field interacting with Bose-Einstein condensate of two-level atoms are studied. The results show that two quadrature components of light can be squeezed periodically, the maximum depth of squeezing is closely correlated to the initial squeezing parameter of light, and the duration is determined by the frequency of the light field.

Squeezing properties of two-mode squeezed field interacting with V-type three-level atoms

Ming Li, Tao Tang, Ding-Han Chen

The Hamiltonian operator of a system of V-type three-level atomic Bose-Einstein condensate interacting with two-mode squeezed coherent light field is analyzed in terms of the lattice-liquid model. It is indicated that the contribution of the interaction between atoms to the Hamiltonian in the literature is unreasonable,so the Hamiltonian operator is improved and the squeezing properties of two-mode squeezed field interacting with V-type three-level atoms are studied. The results show that two quadrature comonents of light can be squeezed periodically and that maximum depth of squeezing is closely related to the initial squeezing parameter of light and that the duration is determined by the frequency of two-mode field.

Squeezed states in the two-atom model with intensity-dependent coupling

Eugene K. Bashkirov

Squeezing for one- and two-mode two-atom Jaynes-Cummings model with intensity-dependent coupling has been investigated assuming the field to be initially in the coherent state. The time-dependent squeezing parameters have been calculated. The influence of the intensity of the cavity field and initial atomic state on the squeezing parameters has been analyzed.
