Abstract

We present a simple scheme to realize a highly controlled and selective atom-field interaction in cavity quantum electrodynamics system. It is shown that, based on such a selective interaction, nontrivial Dicke states of $N$ trapped neutral atoms can be produced step by step in an optical cavity with a very high fidelity in the presence of the cavity decay. The scheme does not need a single-photon source and its injection into an optical cavity, and the atomic spontaneous emission is strongly suppressed due to a large atom-field detuning.

Selective Atom-Cavity Interaction Scheme for Quantum Controlled-NOT Gate Using Four-Level Atoms in Cavity QED System

Shi-Qing Tang, Deng-Yu Zhang, Xie Li-Jun +2 more

We propose a scheme for realization a quantum Controlled-NOT gate operation using two four-level atoms through a selective atom–cavity interaction in cavity quantum electrodynamics system. In our protocol, the quantum information is encoded on the stable ground states of the two atoms. During the interaction between atoms and single-mode vacuum cavity-field, the atomic spontaneous emission is negligible as the large atom–cavity detuning effectively suppresses the spontaneous decay of the atoms. The influences of the dissipation and the deviation of interaction time on fidelity and corresponding success probability of the quantum Controlled-NOT gate and the experimental feasibility of our proposal are also discussed.

Generating Entangled States of Multilevel Atoms through a Selective Atom-Field Interaction

Zhihua Chen, Xiu‐Min Lin

We present a scheme to generate entangled state of two multilevel atoms in a high-Q optical cavity. In the protocol, the selective atom-field interaction is highly controlled, which can yield a resonant interaction inside one selected atom-field subspace and leave the others in a highly dispersive regime. The atomic spontaneous emission is efficiently suppressed via the large atom-field detuning. Simultaneously, the proposal only requires commonly addressing on atoms inside the cavity, which reduces the difficulties of experiment.

Generation of Entangled Multi-atom Dicke States in Cavity Quantum Electrodynamics

Shu Jing, Zhong Liu

We propose a scheme to generate two-atom maximally entangled state in cavity quantum electrodynamics (QED). The scheme can be extended to generation of entangled multi-atom Dicke states if we control the interaction time of atoms with cavity modes. We use adiabatically state evolution under large atom-cavity detuning, so the scheme is insensitive to atomic spontaneous decay. The influence of cavity decay on fidelity and success probability is discussed.

Generation of multi-atom Dicke states through the detection of cavity decay

Yun‐Feng Xiao, Zheng‐Fu Han, Jie Gao +1 more

We propose a scheme to create W states, and further generalize universal Dicke states of n largely detuned atoms, through detecting the leaky polarized photons from an optical cavity. The generation of entangled states in our scheme has a very high success probability since the atomic spontaneous emission is strongly suppressed. The scheme has potential practicability based on near coming laboratory cavity QED technology.

Implementing Entangled State via Selective Resonant Interaction

Xiu‐Min Lin

A scheme is presented to generate Bell state and W state in a high-Q optical cavity with selective interaction. In the scheme, the parameters are selected to highly control the selective interaction between the atoms and the cavity field, yielding a resonant interaction inside one selected atom-field subspace and leaving the others in a highly dispersive regime, which can be eliminated adiabatically. So the scheme is insensitive to atomic spontaneous emission and will be realized easier due to commonly addressing the atoms inside the cavity.
