Abstract

We propose a scheme to generate two-atom maximally entangled state in cavity quantum electrodynamics (QED). The scheme can be extended to generation of entangled multi-atom Dicke states if we control the interaction time of atoms with cavity modes. We use adiabatically state evolution under large atom-cavity detuning, so the scheme is insensitive to atomic spontaneous decay. The influence of cavity decay on fidelity and success probability is discussed.

We propose a scheme to generate four-mode multiphoton entangled states by passing $N$ identical atoms through two high-$Q$ cavities in turn. In the case of $N=1$, the scheme can deterministically generate Einstein-Podosky-Rosen entangled photon pairs. We use adiabatical state evolution under large atom-cavity detuning, so the scheme is insensitive to atomic spontaneous decay. The influence of cavity decay on fidelity and success probability is also discussed.

A Cavity-QED Scheme for Generating Long-Lived Maximally Entangled States

We propose a potentially practical scheme to generate two-atom maximally entangled states by the large-detuning interaction between two three-level Λ-type atoms and coherent optical fields. Conditioned on the results of detecting cavity field, four pairs of atomic maximally entangled states with unity fidelity and high successful probability can be prepared. We also investigate the influence of the cavity dissipation on the generated entangled states and discuss the experimental feasibility of our scheme.

Generation of atomic entangled states with selective resonant interaction in cavity quantum electrodynamics

Yun‐Feng Xiao, Xu‐Bo Zou, Guang‐Can Guo

We present a simple scheme to realize a highly controlled and selective atom-field interaction in cavity quantum electrodynamics system. It is shown that, based on such a selective interaction, nontrivial Dicke states of $N$ trapped neutral atoms can be produced step by step in an optical cavity with a very high fidelity in the presence of the cavity decay. The scheme does not need a single-photon source and its injection into an optical cavity, and the atomic spontaneous emission is strongly suppressed due to a large atom-field detuning.

Generation of multi-atom Dicke states through the detection of cavity decay

Yun‐Feng Xiao, Zheng‐Fu Han, Jie Gao +1 more

We propose a scheme to create W states, and further generalize universal Dicke states of n largely detuned atoms, through detecting the leaky polarized photons from an optical cavity. The generation of entangled states in our scheme has a very high success probability since the atomic spontaneous emission is strongly suppressed. The scheme has potential practicability based on near coming laboratory cavity QED technology.

We propose a scheme to create universal Dicke states of n largely detuned atoms through detecting the leaky photons from an optical cavity. The generation of entangled states in our scheme has quasi-unit success probability, so it has potential practicability based on current or near coming laboratory cavity QED technology.

Generation of multilevel maximally entangled states under large atom-cavity detuning

Peng Shi, Libo Chen, Yongjian Gu +1 more

We propose theoretical schemes to deterministically generate both qubit and qutrit maximally entangled states of atoms by passing two Rb87 atoms through a high-Q bimode cavity successively. The atomic spontaneous decay is efficiently suppressed because of large atom-cavity detuning in our schemes. Strict numerical simulation shows that, although the cavity decay exists unavoidably, our proposal is good enough to generate atomic maximal entanglements with high fidelity and within the current experimental technologies.
