Atomic GHZ States Prepared in Two Directly Coupled Cavities with Virtual Excitations in One Step

Abstract

A scheme for one-step preparation of atomic GHZ states in two directly coupled cavities via virtual excitations is proposed. In the whole procedure, the information is carried only in two ground states of Λ-type atoms, while the excited states of atoms and cavity modes are virtually excited, leading the system to be insensitive to atomic spontaneous emission and photon loss.

A simple scheme for generating multi-atom GHZ state via cavity QED

Wang Jun, Longbao Yu, Ye Liu

This paper proposes a simple scheme for generating a three-atom GHZ state via cavity quantum electrodynamics (QED). The task can be achieved through the interaction between two EPR states, which can be prepared easily with current technology. In this scheme, the cavity field is only virtually excited during the interaction process, and no quantum information transfer between the atoms and the cavity is required. Thus it greatly prolongs the efficient decoherent time. Moreover, this scheme is also applicable for generating an N -atom GHZ state.

A Simple Scheme for the Preparation of Four-Photon GHZ States Based on Cavity QED

Deng-Yu Zhang, Shi-Qing Tang, Xin-Wen Wang +4 more

A simple scheme is presented for generating four-photon Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger states with a large detuned interaction between a three-level atom and two bimodal cavities. In the proposed protocol, the quantum information is encoded on Fock states of the cavity-fields, and the atomic spontaneous emission can be effectively suppressed due to the fact that the excited state of the atom is adiabatically eliminated under the large detuning condition. The detection of the atom can collapse the cavity to the desired state. The experimental feasibility of our proposal is also discussed.

The preparation of GHZ state based on Faraday rotation

Xin Ji

We propose a scheme to prepare the GHZ state of the atoms using the Faraday rotation produced by the input and output process of photons in the low quality cavity. The coupling between atom and cavity isn't strong in the scheme.Meanwhile, the quantum information is encoded in the low energy level of atoms. Therefore, our scheme is insensitive to both cavity decay and atomic spontaneous emission. In addition,we need not to impose the classical field or choose interaction time during the whole process, which reduces the difficulty of experiment.

It propose a scheme for generating GHZ-type entangled states for atoms via adiabatic passage. The proposal is robust to atomic spontaneous emission noise.Similarly, the scheme can also be used to generate the GHZ states for cavities. The success probability is approximate 1.0.

Simultaneous Excitation of Two Atoms with a Single Photon

Luigi Garziano, Roberto Stassi, Vincenzo Macrí +3 more

We consider two separate atoms interacting with a single-mode optical resonator. When the frequency of the resonator field is twice the atomic transition frequency, we show that there exists a resonant coupling between one photon and two atoms, via intermediate virtual states connected by counter-rotating processes. If the resonator is prepared in its one-photon state, the photon can be jointly absorbed by the two atoms in their ground state which will both reach their excited state with probability close to one. Like ordinary quantum Rabi oscillations, this process is coherent and reversible, so that two atoms in their excited state will undergo a downward transition jointly emitting a single cavity photon. This joint absorption and emission processes can also occur with three atoms. The parameters used to investigate this process correspond to experimentally demonstrated values in circuit quantum electrodynamics systems.
