Abstract

Based on the input-output relation in low-Q cavities, we propose a feasible scheme to prepare remotely a single-atom state via photonic Faraday rotation, and then the scheme is generalized to the case of remote preparation of a two-atom entangled state. Our results show that when the coefficients of the initial atomic state to be prepared are real, both remote preparation of the single-atom state and that of the two-atom entangled state can be achieved deterministically by selecting appropriate parameters of the systems for the interactions among the atom, polarized single-photon pulse, and cavity field. Compared with the existing schemes for remote preparation of atomic states, in our scheme photons are used as flying qubits to transmit quantum information, which is suitable indeed to achieve a long-distance atomic state preparation in principle. Due to the fact that the information of atomic state is encoded in two degenerate ground-state levels of a -type three-level atom confined in a unilateral dissipative cavity, and that the atoms are only virtually excited, our schemes are insensitive to both cavity decay and atomic spontaneous emission. Besides, the two schemes we proposed do not need two- or multi-particle orthogonal measurements, only product-state measurements are involved, as well as they work in low-Q regime and do not require a strong coupling condition between the atoms and the optical cavities, which greatly reduce the experimental difficulty.

QUANTUM TELEPORTATION VIA PHOTONIC FARADAY ROTATION

Juanjuan Chen, Jun‐Hong An

We propose a scheme for deterministically teleporting a pure quantum state, making use of the Faraday rotation of photonic polarization in cavity QED system. Based on the single-photon input-output process regarding cavities, the scheme works well even in low-Q cavities. Since only virtual excitation of the atoms is involved, it is also insensitive to atomic spontaneous emission. Besides, the CNOT operation replaced by the Faraday rotation is not needed in the scheme, which could greatly relax the experimental difficulty.

The preparation of GHZ state based on Faraday rotation

Xin Ji

We propose a scheme to prepare the GHZ state of the atoms using the Faraday rotation produced by the input and output process of photons in the low quality cavity. The coupling between atom and cavity isn't strong in the scheme.Meanwhile, the quantum information is encoded in the low energy level of atoms. Therefore, our scheme is insensitive to both cavity decay and atomic spontaneous emission. In addition,we need not to impose the classical field or choose interaction time during the whole process, which reduces the difficulty of experiment.

We propose a scheme for preparing a four-atom cluster state via photonic Faraday rotations in loss optical cavities connected by optical fibers. In this scheme, four three-level atoms are trapped inside coupled cavities, and the information is encoded in the low energy level, therefore our scheme is insensitive to both cavity decay and atomic spontaneous emission,so that the entanglement is more stable.

Teleportation of an arbitrary multipartite state via photonic Faraday rotation

Juan-Juan Chen, Jun-Hong An, Mang Feng +1 more

We propose a practical scheme for deterministically teleporting an arbitrary multipartite state, either product or entangled, using Faraday rotation of the photonic polarization. Our scheme, based on the input-output process of single-photon pulses regarding cavities, works in low-Q cavities and only involves virtual excitation of the atoms, which is insensitive to both cavity decay and atomic spontaneous emission. Besides, the Bell-state measurement is accomplished by the Faraday rotation plus product-state measurements, which could much relax the experimental difficulty to realize the Bell-state measurement by the CNOT operation.

Probabilistic Remote Preparation of Two-atom Entangled State

Ma Song-She

A scheme for remote preparation of a two-atom entangled state is presented, which is based on the simultaneous nonresonant interaction of atoms with a single-mode cavity field. In view of the fact that two-particle entanglement is more easily generated than three-particle entanglement, the scheme prepares a two-atom entangled state via two pairs of two-atom entangled state as the quantum channel. Let two identical atoms Alice possesses interact with a single-mode cavity field simultaneously. Alice knows the state she wants to prepare. She selects a proper interaction time, measures the states of the atoms she possesses, and informs Bob of her measurement through a classical channel. Bob introduces an identical auxiliary atom and a single-mode cavity field in vacuum state to achieve the scheme. The scheme is insensitive to the cavity field states and cavity decay. The preparation can be achieved in a simple way. Based on current cavity quantum electrodynamics technique, the scheme can be realized experimentally.
