Abstract

We propose a method to generate multiphoton polarization-entangled cluster states of any number photons by using the fusion operations of two-photon cluster states and a kind of local operation, and then analyze the process of open-destination teleportation of a single photon state using the generated states. Apart from theoretical deductions, we also give the experimentally schematic diagram, which requires only BBOs, Polarization Beam Splitters, half-wave plates, single photon resources as well as some other linear optical elements. The equipment and techniques used here are all feasible under current technology.

Generation of multiphoton Greenberger–Horne–Zeilinger state and its two kinds of teleportation

Jia-Min Song, Di Chang, Yong-Chang Huang

We propose a comprehensive experimental scheme to generate and teleport GHZ states of any number of photons as well as to accomplish the process of open-destination teleportation of a single photon's arbitrary state. The equipment and techniques which are used in our scheme are all feasible under current technology. Moreover, we make a direct extension of the above cases and investigate the open-destination teleportation of any M-photon general GHZ states with a brief diagram.

Generating a four-photon polarization-entangled cluster state

Xu‐Bo Zou, Wolfgang M. Mathis

We propose a scheme to generate a four-photon polarization-entangled cluster state by using only linear optical elements and four-photon coincidence detection. The scheme requires two single-photon states and one two-photon polarization entangled state as input resources. Then, we consider the realistic implementation of the scheme by using the spontaneous parametric down-conversion as photon resources. It is shown that under certain conditions, the four-photon polarization cluster state can be generated with a high fidelity, and the scheme is feasible by current experimental technology.

EFFICIENT SCHEME FOR PREPARING POLARIZATION-ENTANGLED PHOTONIC CLUSTER STATES BASED ON CROSS-KERR NONLINEARITY

Meng-Zheng Zhu, Yuan Guang-yu

A scheme is proposed for generating a polarization four-photon cluster, which is believed to be suitable to achieve the one-way quantum computing via single-qubit projective measurements, with the help of only cross-Kerr nonlinearity and current linear optical systems. Compared with the existing schemes, the distinct advantage of the present scheme is that cluster states can be achieved with high success probability close to unity. Our scheme is experimentally demanding but efficient. Based on the present scheme, the cluster state of 3N + 1 photons can be obtained with the help of linear optical elements.

A GENERATION SCHEME OF THE DISTRIBUTED FOUR-PHOTON CLUSTER-TYPE POLARIZATION-ENTANGLED STATES EXPLOITING THE INTEGRATION OF ENTANGLEMENT GATES AND THE CONTROLLED PHASE GATE

Dong Li, Junxi Wang, Xiao‐Ming Xiu +3 more

We propose a scheme for preparing the distributed four-photon cluster-type polarization-entangled states associated with the integration of the controlled phase gate and two kinds of entanglement gates. Employing weak cross-Kerr nonlinear interactions and Homodyne measurement, two individual photons entangle together based on the bus function of coherent states. Assisted by optical elements mainly including polarization beam splitters, the entanglement of the signal photons is converted from the spatial mode to the polarization mode. The application of classical feed forward provides the high-efficiency to the preparation of Einstein–Podolsky–Rosen (EPR) states, Greenberger–Horne–Zeilinger (GHZ) states, and four-photon cluster-type polarization-entangled states. With regard to the four-photon cluster-type state, it can be generated in two distributed nodes with less experimental requirements, integrating the features of three logical gates.

Generation of Multiphoton Entangled States with Linear Optical Elements

Sheng Yu-Bo, Deng Fu-Guo, Hong-Yu Zhou

We propose a linear optical protocol to generate three-photon and four-photon entangled states without resorting to entangled sources. The setup in this protocol is composed of three beam splitters and two half-wave plates. We can obtain three-photon and four-photon entangled states with postselection, as with other protocols. This protocol has the advantage of high efficiency and is more feasible than others.

Complete and nondestructive polarization-entangled cluster state analysis assisted by a cavity input–output process

Jili Zhang, Shi‐Lei Su, Shou Zhang +2 more

We present two schemes to realize four- and five-photon polarization-entangled cluster state analysis. For four- and five-photon polarization cluster states, the complete bases are composed of 16 and 32 orthogonal state vectors, respectively. To distinguish all of these orthogonal bases completely and nondestructively, a parity analyzer, a polarization analyzer, and two cluster state phase analyzers are designed with some simple linear optical elements and auxiliary atoms trapped in cavities. After implementing the nondestructive cluster analysis process, the cluster states are preserved and thus could be used again in other schemes. The investigations of the fidelities show that our schemes are feasible under the current experimental technology. Our proposed schemes may be useful in multiparticle teleportation, quantum dense coding, and other quantum information processing tasks.
