Abstract

By using the concept of degree of coherence of quantum optical fields, the properties of fields which can be modulated at a complex rate are studied.Received 8 February 1977DOI:https://doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevA.16.449©1977 American Physical Society

About nature of coherence of light waves

П. О. Дем’яненко, Yu. F. Zinkovskiy, M.I. Prokof'ev

Starting from an understanding of precise representations of the nature of light, the authors discuss the concept of coherence of light waves. They explore the ideas of photons and quantum packages in relation to the characteristics of coherence.

Characterization and manipulation of matter-wave coherence

Elena V. Goldstein, M. G. Moore, O. Zobay +1 more

We review an extension of the optical coherence theory to the case of atomic Schrodinger waves, and show that this requires the introduction of several classes of coherence. Optical methods to manipulate the coherence of matter-wave fields are discussed.
