Abstract

A scheme for one-step preparation of atomic GHZ states in two directly coupled cavities via virtual excitations is proposed. In the whole procedure, the information is carried only in two ground states of A-type atoms, while the excited states of atoms and cavity modes are virtually excited, leading the system to be insensitive to atomic spontaneous emission and photon loss.更多还原

A simple scheme for generating multi-atom GHZ state via cavity QED

Wang Jun, Longbao Yu, Ye Liu

This paper proposes a simple scheme for generating a three-atom GHZ state via cavity quantum electrodynamics (QED). The task can be achieved through the interaction between two EPR states, which can be prepared easily with current technology. In this scheme, the cavity field is only virtually excited during the interaction process, and no quantum information transfer between the atoms and the cavity is required. Thus it greatly prolongs the efficient decoherent time. Moreover, this scheme is also applicable for generating an N -atom GHZ state.

Efficient Scheme for the Generation of Atomic Schrödinger Cat States in an Optical Cavity

Zheng Shi-Biao, Lin Li-Hua, Jiang Yun-kun

An efficient scheme is proposed for the generation of atomic Schrödinger cat states in an optical cavity. In the scheme N three-level atoms are loaded in the optical cavity. Raman coupling of two ground states is achieved via a laser field and the cavity mode. The cavity mode is always in the vacuum state and the atoms have no probability of being populated in the excited state. Thus, the scheme is insensitive to both the cavity decay and spontaneous emission.

Scheme for quantum state manipulation in coupled cavities

Jin‐Zhong Lin

By controlling the parameters of the system, the effective interaction between different atoms is achieved in different cavities. Based on the interaction, scheme to generate three-atom Greenberger–Horne–Zeilinger (GHZ) is proposed in coupled cavities. Spontaneous emission of excited states and decay of cavity modes can be suppressed efficiently. In addition, the scheme is robust against the variation of hopping rate between cavities.

One-step engineering many-atom NOON state

Chuang Li, Elijah M. Sampuli, Jie Song +2 more

We propose a one-step scheme for driving many atoms into a NOON state. In this scheme, two cavities are coupled to each other through the photon-hopping interaction and each cavity contains N four-level atoms. The 2 N atoms are driven into a NOON state via a phase-shift which depends on the collective atomic excitations. Interestingly, the time of generating the NOON state is independent of the atom number, i.e., it is unchanged with the increasing of the atom number. Also, our scheme is insensitive to cavity decay and can effectively suppress atomic spontaneous emission.
