Abstract

We present a scheme to prepare two-atom Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen states and three-atom entangled states via cavity quantum electrodynamics, and it can be realized experimentally. Importantly, we find that in the set of tripartite entangled states prepared by our scheme there is a peculiar tripartite entangled state except the Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) state. The peculiar tripartite entangled states have double feature of the GHZ state (i.e. τ 123 >0) and W state (i.e. the remaining reduce density matrices ρ ij retain entanglement according to the positive partial transformation (PPT) criterion) simultaneously. However, its entanglement properties are not completely identical either to the GHZ state or to the W state. It is interesting that for peculiar entanglement properties, the remaining reduced density matrices ρ ij can retain entanglement or disentanglement independently, which can be chosen freely according to our need.

Quest for Ghz States

Marek Żukowski, Anton Zeilinger, Michael Horne +1 more

The premises of the Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen argument for their claim that quantum mechanics is an incomplete theory are inconsistent when applied to three-particle systems in entangled Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger states. However, thus far there is no experimental confirmation for existence of such states. We propose a technique to obtain Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger states which rests upon an observation that when a single particle from two independent entangled pairs is detected in a manner such that it is impossible to determine from which pair the single came, the remaining three particles become entangled.

Generation and application of a controllable multi-atom entangled state

Huang Yan-Xia, Mingsheng Zhan

In this paper, we present a scheme to prepare a set of the multi-atom entangled states by the cavity quantum electrodynamics (QED) technology. The multi-atom entangled states have some particular entanglement properties. For example, the remaining reduced density matrices ρ ij still retain entanglement or disentanglement when any N -2 atoms of the N atoms are traced out, which can be chosen freely according to our need and the relative entanglement strength of any pair of atoms (measured by the concurrence) can be arbitrarily adjusted. In addition, they may be completely symmetric under the exchange of any two atoms and perform certain quantum information tasks, such as telecloning, teleportation, secret sharing and so on.

Scheme for Preparation of a Peculiar Type of Tripartite Entangled State via Thermal Cavity

Zhang Gang, Yang Ming, Zhuo‐Liang Cao

We propose a simple scheme for the generation of a peculiar tripartite entangled state via thermal cavity. The peculiar tripartite entangled state shares features of the GHZ and W state simultaneously. The photon-number-dependent parts in the effective Hamiltonian are canceled with the assistance of a strong classical field, thus the scheme is insensitive to both the thermal field and the cavity decay. The only thing one needs to do is to modulate the interaction time only once.

Quantum dense coding using a peculiar tripartite entangled state

Cheng Wei-Wen, Huang Yan-Xia, Tang-Kun Liu +1 more

Following a recent proposal ( Phys. Lett. A 346 (2005) 330) about quantum dense coding using a tripartite entangled GHZ state and W state, this paper proposes an experimentally feasible scheme for dense coding in cavity QED by using another peculiar tripartite entangled state. In the scheme the atoms interact simultaneously with a highly detuned cavity mode with the assistance of a classical field, the successful probability of dense coding scheme with this peculiar tripartite entangled state equals 1.

Realization of atomic Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger states via cavity quantum electrodynamics

E. S. Guerra, J. C. Retamal

In this work we propose a scheme in which it is possible to generate atomic Greenberger—Horner—Zeilinger (GHZ) states by letting three-level atoms in a lambda configuration interact with a cavity field followed by a displacement of the cavity field and selective measurements on two-level atoms which disentangle the atoms and field states. We also propose a GHZ test based on such states.
