Abstract

In this paper, we present a scheme to prepare a set of the multi-atom entangled states by the cavity quantum electrodynamics (QED) technology. The multi-atom entangled states have some particular entanglement properties. For example, the remaining reduced density matrices ρ ij still retain entanglement or disentanglement when any N -2 atoms of the N atoms are traced out, which can be chosen freely according to our need and the relative entanglement strength of any pair of atoms (measured by the concurrence) can be arbitrarily adjusted. In addition, they may be completely symmetric under the exchange of any two atoms and perform certain quantum information tasks, such as telecloning, teleportation, secret sharing and so on.

Preparation of a New Type of Multiqubit Entangled States in Cavity QED

Xiong Wen-yuan, Xin-Wen Wang, Li-Xin Xia

Recently Yang, Chu, and Han [Phys. Rev. A 70 (2004) 022329] presented a new type of multipartite entangled states for implementing efficient many-party controlled teleportation of multiqubit quantum information. Here we propose a simple scheme for preparing such a type of multi-atom entangled states in cavity quantum electrodynamics (QED). The scheme involves atom-cavity interaction with large detuning, and is immune to the cavity decay and the thermal field states. Some practical analyses show its availability with the present technology.

A simple scheme for generating multi-atom GHZ state via cavity QED

Wang Jun, Longbao Yu, Ye Liu

This paper proposes a simple scheme for generating a three-atom GHZ state via cavity quantum electrodynamics (QED). The task can be achieved through the interaction between two EPR states, which can be prepared easily with current technology. In this scheme, the cavity field is only virtually excited during the interaction process, and no quantum information transfer between the atoms and the cavity is required. Thus it greatly prolongs the efficient decoherent time. Moreover, this scheme is also applicable for generating an N -atom GHZ state.

Properties of entanglement molecules

Yanxia Huang, Mingsheng Zhan

We propose a scheme to prepare a certain kind of N-atom entangled state that allows us to construct some possible types of entanglement molecules via cavity QED. The entanglement properties of entanglement molecules \psi(N)>(alpha) are studied with respect to bipartite entanglement that is robust against the disposal of particles and are compared with entanglement molecules p, introduced in Dur (2001 Phys. Rev. A 63 020303). We also give the maximal amount of entanglement achievable for two particular situations in two possible configurations. Meanwhile, we investigate the entanglement properties of entanglement molecules \psi(N)>(alpha) in terms of local measurement using the maximum connectedness and persistency and compare them with other kinds of N-atom entangled states such as \GHZ>, \W-N> and \phi(N)>. We show that the maximal value N - 1 of the persistency of the state \psi(N)>(alpha) corresponds to the case that all atoms are pairwise entangled. If any pair of atoms rho(ij) is disentangled, the entanglement of the state \psi(N)>(alpha) is very easy to destroy by a single local measurement.

SECRET SHARING OF N-ATOM ENTANGLED STATE IN CAVITY QED

Zhong‐Xiao Man, Yun‐Jie Xia, Zhanjun Zhang

We propose a scheme to secret sharing of an unknown N-atom entangled state in driven cavity QED. The scheme needs only atomic Bell states as the quantum channels and joint Bell-state measurement is unnecessary. In addition, the scheme is insensitive to the cavity decay and the thermal field.

Generation of Cluster States in Cavity QED

Zhou Yan-Li, Yang Li-Jia, Hong‐Yi Dai

We propose two schemes for the generation of cluster states in the context of cavity quantum electrodynamics (QED). In the first scheme, we prepare multi-cavity cluster states with information encoded in the coherent states. The second scheme is to generate multi-atom cluster states, where qubits are represented by the states of cascade Rydberg atoms. Both the schemes are based on the atom-cavity interaction and the atomic spontaneous radiation can be efficiently reduced since the cavity frequency is largely detuned from the atomic transition frequency.

Generation of Entangled Multi-atom Dicke States in Cavity Quantum Electrodynamics

Shu Jing, Zhong Liu

We propose a scheme to generate two-atom maximally entangled state in cavity quantum electrodynamics (QED). The scheme can be extended to generation of entangled multi-atom Dicke states if we control the interaction time of atoms with cavity modes. We use adiabatically state evolution under large atom-cavity detuning, so the scheme is insensitive to atomic spontaneous decay. The influence of cavity decay on fidelity and success probability is discussed.
