Abstract

Reanalysis of the photoassociation spectrum of the weakly binding (6S 1/2 + 6P 3/2 ) 1 g 133 Cs 2 levels, reported in the previous study J. Mol. Spectro. 255 (2009) 106], is performed by using a Lu-Fano graph coupled to the improved LeRoy-Bernstein formula including two additional modified terms. A more accurate coefficient (c 3 ) is obtained for the leading long-range potential (-c 3 /R 3 ) of a diatomic molecule.

Weakly bound (6s1/2+ 6p1/2)0−gCs2levels analysed using the vibrational quantum defect: detection of two deeply bound (6s1/2+ 6p3/2)0−glevels

1 Weakly bound (6s 1/2 +6p 1/2)0 g - Cs 2 levels analysed using the vibrational quantum defect. Detection of two deeply bound (6s 1/2 +6p 3/2)0 g - levels. Abstract. We report on the analysis of the (6s 1/2 +6p 1/2)0 g - weakly-bound levels of Cs 2 detected by photoassociation spectroscopy. We compare three methods of analysis: the use of the LeRoy-Bernstein formula, the use of the improved LeRoy-Bernstein formula and the use of the vibrational quantum defect. We show that the vibrational quantum defect method is more sensitive than the other methods and allows us to detect two deeplybound levels of the (6s 1/2 +6p 3/2)0 g - potential, which are not detected by the others methods. The binding energies of the levels are found to be 565.49 cm -1 and 591.43 cm-1 below the (6s 1/2 +6p 3/2) dissociation limit.

Spin effects in (6s1∕2+6p1∕2)0u+ Cs2133 weakly bound molecules analyzed by using the Lu-Fano method coupled to the improved LeRoy-Bernstein formula

We present an analysis of spectroscopic data concerning the long-range molecular state $(6{s}_{1∕2}+6{p}_{1∕2}){0}_{u}^{+}$ of $^{133}\mathrm{Cs}_{2}$ [M. Pichler, H. Chen, and W. C. Stwalley, J. Chem. Phys. 121, 1796 (2004)] by using the Lu-Fano method coupled to the improved LeRoy-Bernstein formula. The obtained Lu-Fano graph exhibits the coupling of molecular series to the $(6{s}_{1∕2}+6{p}_{3∕2}){0}_{u}^{+}$ state. The coupling is due to the spin effects in the molecule. A two-channel model involving the improved LeRoy-Bernstein formula allows us to characterize the molecular series, to localize the perturbing levels, to evaluate the coupling in the vicinity of each perturbing level (five observed for Cs) in a two-level approach and in a more accurate multilevel description. Furthermore, we predict the energy and the width of the first predissociated level.

High Sensitivity Measurement and Accurate Analysis of the Vibrational Spectroscopy Near the (6S1/2+6P3/2) Dissociation limit for 1g State of Cs2

Yuqing Li, Jie Ma, Jizhou Wu +6 more

The photoassociation spectroscopic data of the long-range molecular 1g state of Cs 2 in the asymptotic range red detuned [-5.02, -2.45 cm -1 ] to the (6S 1/2 +6P 3/2 ) dissociation limit detected using photon counting technique are presented and 18 new high-lying vibrational energy levels are obtained. Fitting experimental data to the improved LeRoy–Bernstein (LRB) formula, we have obtained the long-range molecular coefficient c 3 with a high precision and also demonstrated the necessity of the improved LRB formula for more precise c 3 coefficient by analyzing the residual from fitting procedure.

Photoassociation spectroscopy of ultracold Cs below the 6P3/2 limit

Marin Pichler, Hongmin Chen, William C. Stwalley

High precision photoassociation spectroscopy is performed in ultracold cesium gas, with detunings as large as 51 cm(-1) below the Cs(6S(1/2))+Cs(6P(3/2)) asymptote. Trap-loss fluorescence detection is used for detecting the photoassociation to excited state ultracold molecules. Long vibrational progressions are assigned to electronic states of 0(g) (-), 0(u) (+), and 1(g) symmetry. The spectral data are fitted to a LeRoy-Bernstein equation, in order to obtain the effective coefficients of the leading long-range interaction term (C(3)/R(3)) and the relative vibrational quantum numbers measured down from dissociation. Additionally we present evidence for perturbations between the 0(g) (-) state and the dark 2(u) state.

Photoassociation spectroscopy of Rb287 (5s1∕2+5p1∕2)0g− long-range molecular states: Analysis by Lu-Fano graph and improved LeRoy-Bernstein formula

Haikel Jelassi, B. Viaris de Lesegno, Laurence Pruvost

We report on cold atom photoassociation of $^{87}\mathrm{Rb}$ giving spectroscopy data of the $(5{s}_{1∕2}+5{p}_{1∕2}){0}_{g}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ long-range molecular states in the asymptotic range of [$\ensuremath{-}12.5\phantom{\rule{0.3em}{0ex}}{\mathrm{cm}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$, $\ensuremath{-}1.5\phantom{\rule{0.3em}{0ex}}{\mathrm{cm}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$] below the dissociation limit. Using a Lu-Fano approach to analyze the data, we show that an improved LeRoy-Bernstein model has to be applied. This approach lets us determine the phase shift of the wave function at the dissociation limit of the ${0}_{g}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ series.
